I've never heard of someone so addicted to cigarettes that they couldn't stop smoking to eat.
My Father in Law and a man who worked for my grandfather were both diagnosed with early stage throat cancer. Both were told that if they quit smoking their odds were pretty good that they would survive. FIL was in 2002 and the other man was in the early 90's. Neither were willing to give it up. Both of them lasted about 1 year after being diagnosed and both of them were unable to swallow anything for the last 4 months or so of their lives...both had feeding tubes but neither tolerated the diet well and stayed nauseated and pretty much lived the last 4 months of their lives with a 24 hour stomach virus which included vomiting and diarrhea for 4 months while they withered away from malnutrition and dehydration. Both of them continued to smoke until they were both about a week from the day they died. Couldn't inhale because their throat would not tolerate it but they smoked non the less and smoked more because not inhaling was not feeding their addiction. Both of their death certificates says the cause of death was malnutrition and dehydration despite being on feeding tubes and receiving IV fluids in hospice. Neither could kick the habit of smoking, or were not willing to try, to maintain the habit they had since conception of eating. They did not need to quit smoking long enough to consume a meal, they needed to quit long enough for their throats to heal enough to swallow again. No one deserves dying like that...its no where near as glamorous as the brochure sounds,,,its far worse.

For some reason, people act like daily marijuana use is perfectly fine.
It has negatives.
I partake in THC edibles on the weekends, only when I know I won't have to work the next day. I don't see how anyone could be a functioning professional using marijuana daily. I think it parallels well with alcohol use. Almost everything has negative side effects if it's abused.

I think we’ve become soft and mental illness / abnormality seems to be the norm now. Or at least it seems so because we are inundated with it daily.

The studies on effects of thc on our health have been fairly limited but they’re starting to grow. We’re starting to see that it isn’t the harmless substance that people have thought.

In this thread: a bunch of people on chemical altering pharmaceuticals telling us chemical altering THC is bad for you

Sounds like you were really hitting on the fentanyl/meth with those symptoms.
From medical dispensary weed? Sure man. Weed's harmless. The problem is that the doctors are putting fentanyl in it to get us hooked.

Don’t smoke but will eat a gummy every blue moon.
Would like to know which alcoholic beverage lobby paid for the research?
Love me some shiner bock and Elijah Craig and I think they are more harmful than thc.

Im fine with that.
Figure out what dosages do what, for what weight and condition, like every other legit med on the planet.
Taking advice from the GED halfwit at the dispensary is not my idea of ensuring a successful outcome.

Speak for yourself, sport.
Anyone taking anti-depressants for more thsn a short-term situation is likely wasting their time and needs to find a new doctor.

That’s revisionist history, at least on Tigerdroppings

Since going from a heavy daily user to a dabbler at best, I don't have those issues. TIFWIW, but CHS, heart problems, and mental health issues from pot use aren't just DARE fear mongering.
1.) A VAST majority of the time...a patient presenting with CHS is caused by smoking synthetic marijuana. Not THCA, I mean synthetic spice/K2 variations. So FYI, the chemicals you were smoking caused this.
2.) You can't possibly believe that your personal, anxiety-fueled anecdotal experience should be indicative of every member of society, right?

The argument over the years is that it is harmless.
Is the argument that all things which cause harm should be illegal? Or just Marijuana?
I'm all for educating people on risks, just want to understand this specific topic.

Can not wait to get off and go toke... My eyes are about fried from staring at a computer screen all day. Sitting at a desk for 9+ hours a day is pretty detrimental to one's health too, but I am sure the corporate lifestyle won't be frowned upon. We all die at some points so do what you enjoy.

This entire study is because the alcohol industry is threatened. And they should feel threatened because the weed industry is taking big bites of their demo. THC infused drinks are growing in popularity faster than you think - and with good reason. No hangover. No real impairment other than being happy.
I've been alcohol free for a month and I've never felt better than I do right now. Every now and then I'll have a THC drink and it's a game changer.
This new round of "WE GOTTA BAN ALL THE WEEEEEEEEEED" reeks of desperation by big alcohol.

Is the argument that all things which cause harm should be illegal?
I have stated it multiple times in this thread.
The argument is that we should be as open and honest about the negative side effects and long term problems of marijuana as we are with alcohol, cigarettes, etc.
Instead of that, anytime some points out any negatives of marijuana, people get their panties in a wad.
Anytime someone points out a negative, it’s all just “due to the alcohol lobby, man”.

Nobody's banning anything; states are generating tons of tax dollars, and here LSU has a monopoly.
Greed wins out, bad for you or not.
I did like "big alcohol ", though.

Or at least that's what the alcohol and pharmaceutical industry's say anyway

That's because those arguments were used for so long to ban MJ and are still being used today (See Dan Patrick's melt down when Abbot vetoed the THC ban in Texas). I agree with you, more education about the negative effects of MJ needs to happen like they do with alcohol, fast food, cigarettes, sun exposure, driving too fast, not exercising,, etc etc etc.
