Making the rounds on FB. The Karens don't want bikes at the bike path anymore!

This is on the Tammany Trace?

Yep. The city had clarified that bikes aren't banned from the trace itself, but they're not allowed at the trailhead. Doesn't make a whole lotta sense, but what do I know?

I don't know anything about this area, but the viral bike swerve nonsense is probably part of it. Dumbass kids doing wheelies and veering off at the last second before hitting people.

Just create a walking side and biking side.
Don't disagree with the electric bike part.

I think the trailhead is just the immediate area surrounding the old depot that has a lot of foot traffic.
They can’t ban bikes from the trace itself.

What was the problem? Spandex riders congregating at the trailhead?

Yes it's mainly the covered area, the splashpad and the little concert area.
Kids riding bikes through the splash area while little kids are there. Kids riding E bikes through there very fastly, jumping the berm behind the "ampitheater" etc. There has been a crackdown on kids and E bikes in the area and the trace. Kids riding 30 ish mph and passing close to slower bikes and runners.

How has the trace been with e-bikes on the rise?

The ban on the little kids zooming around on E bikes and scooters is good. I don’t want to be the one that kills one of them with my car.
The misspelled sign concerns me though. One of two things has happened.
1. They are too dumb to read the sign abd realize it’s wrong.
Or
2. They know it’s screwed up and don’t care.

You know we are just out there to show you what you could be if you just applied yourself?

Why did that restaurant close by the trailhead? I like that place

The most recent tenant? They didn’t seem to have their shite together. First one without a buffalo chicken sandwich too which was weak. I wasn’t an are they were actually though, I’m talking about the ones that took out the brew tanks and added a free arcade. Food was ok but a cool place.

low speed ebike bans are pretty much unenforceable thanks to Federal law, they are considered bicycles. So the only way to get around that is to just ban bicycles entirely. Which is probably what is happening here.
