If I knew it was just my wife in the car I would know she could handle the situation with 12 year olds herself and I'd probably just yell and scare them. Add my kids in the car like this guys kids were and all bets are off.

When I was a kid.. 6.. 7ish I guess.. Me and my cousins were outside and got the bright idea to throw rocks at cars. I just know from hearing the story, I barely remember the details. But evidently we hit this woman's car, she got out and yelled at us then went tell my parents and my dad whipped me and my cousin's asses.
That would probably be the best way to handle it, but today.. You never know how a kid's parents will react. All the kid has to say "I didn't do it" and the parents will take up for the little frick who will grow up thinking he can get away with anything.
I remember my parents had a rule. If a teacher called and said we did something or an adult went to them saying we did something.. Don't even waste our time trying to making excuses because they are going to take the word of the adult who told them what we did.

Not to mention the snake was already on top the car, so it's not like the guy prevented the act. His reaction might have been justified then.

And the kid was throwing a dead snake... or something that looks like a live snake, into a car... with my wife and kids?
I'm waiting for that kids dad outside of his door. I'm going to have a good reason to be arrested that day.

12 year old being a little shite needs to get pushed down here and there. That's how us 30 somethings got it. Everyone bitches that kids are spoiled and do whatever they want, and are entitled. Well, this is getting back to the old days.

I think he acted appropriately. It’s not like he curb stomped the 12 y/o. He didn’t even go after the other kid that was filming.
