What a weak, ignorant, self defeating, gutless, hollow shell of a statement.

Not sure if serious.
If so you can go eat a bag of dicks.

No I'd say its when he refused to show ID. If he didn't have to prove how woke he is and just show his ID, he probably gets a "look the park is closed how bout call it a day and head home" instead of a cuffing. Rest assured he got exactly what he wanted out of this.
The park wasn't closed. Only to more than a certain number. Three is under that number. And it's a family. You don't social distance your wife and kids. They were doing nothing wrong.
You don't have to carry an id. Arrest was bullshite. Which is why he was released.

Mooney was just there with his wife and daughter. He said it was the officers who were violating social distancing guidelines.

I like that meme. Liberals hate the police but crave government control over everything...never thinking about how that control will be enforced.

His name would get documented in a report. If someone, as an example, spray paints “F the police” on a building in the park that night, guess who’s going to receive a visit from the police and have to prove his innocence?

The biggest reason for not providing his ID is because he wasn’t legally obligated to do so.
I guess that’s one way to look at it. A bit of paranoia I think but to each his own. I can absolutely say with 100% certainty that I will never be arrested in this type of situation because no matter how much of a complete, education challenged a-hole I think the cop(s) is/are, I know how to talk and maintain lines of respectful dialogue open and I have no concerns of being arrested in the night for misdemeanors of the general public because I presented some random cop for a random reason my ID. I don’t care if I legally don’t have to do it, I’ll do it to help keep the peace and move on with life.

Dude acts like an a-hole in front of his kid by disrespecting the law and gets cuffed.
Sounds like the cops were the assholes because they illegally detained him for doing nothing wrong. Their egos were hurt and they went too far. We see this time and time again. If police were actually held liable for these intrusions on rights, it wouldn't happen as much.

An update to the article says the police were called to the park about a disturbance, not for "social distancing violations".
Any chance this douche matched a description given?

Of course they did. The "disturbance" was most likely this guy playing with his family in the park. On the Collierville Watch page on Facebook you've got people constantly sharing the non-emergency number to report people not practicing social distancing

Picture? It may explain the mixed reactions a little better.

I guess the dude had to prove to his daughter what a big man he is.She learned a lesson from this, which one I don't know.
But you are right, cooperate, find out what's going on,then take the complaint to their superiors later.
Or just be a badass and get arrested.
