I don’t get how deaths aren’t affecting hospitalizations and vents more?
I guess the deaths also take people off of vents and hospital beds, so that's the only reason I can think of with it lagging like that.
This is so far from the case in Utah. Check the link below for Native American stats, at least from those that dont refuse to report. That state tried to help them with this roll out, and they chose not to allow it. These are the same tribes that still have seperate laws for "mixed bloods".

Maybe not entirely specific to Baton Rouge, but the term booksack is definitely a local thing.

Definitely regional, but I literally had no idea this was a regional thing until now. Just asked a bunch of coworkers (west coast). None of them had ever heard the term.
Everything looks good except deaths. Looks like the curve is finally flattening, but not yet reversing, for new cases. Deaths seems to just be peaking. Positive tests/tests administered flattening. Vents and Hospitalizations reversing trend.
Had one teacher in high school that always had tennis balls at his desk to hum at guys acting up. He was this huge, fat, awful teacher who was also a football coach. Incredible aim and speed for his age.

Administration at the Montesorri I went to k-6th had an approval letter on file from my parents okaying them to whip me.

Had a teacher try and suspend me for "skipping class" after he told me it was ok to go play flag football in PE. He did discipline me, but my dad ended up whipping his arse in the parking lot of the school. He also ended up on the ashley madison list. :doublebird:

By happenstance, I was in NOLA once during Essence Fest. Never, ever, ever again.
Im a bigger fan of the lancair propjet. Always have been.
I think the obligatory reply here is: "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes"
This EXACT thing happened to me on American with a dell. They essentially told me to go FMS
After my dad passed away when I was 19 I had the most vivid dreams ever for the next 3-4 months, but never had a single dream about him.

There is some back story to this dream, but I'll try and keep it short: Dad had a degenerative brain disease, but stayed in the home until his passing. The on-set was gradual over about 5 years starting with his speech problems, saying incorrect words, getting a walker, then wheelchair, to being bed ridden, etc.

Fast forward about 3 years and I have a dream, out of the blue, where he was sitting in his chair, this was after he was utilizing a walker some time, wheel chair a majority of the time. He gets up from his chair and literally runs down the hallway in our house laughing hysterically. At that point I looked at my mom in the dream and we both had the realization that the whole past 4 or so years of his sickness had been a cruel joke. Obviously, there are much worse dreams to have, but it has stuck with me since then and I actually think of it often.

At least you're honest.

On a more serious note, I was a white water rafting guide at the north entrance of Yellowstone (Gardiner) for a summer. I have nothing but great memories. Pay is crap, but it worth it if you're looking for adventure and the rapids aren't *too* dangerous. If you fall in love with the area you could easily get a job with one of the tour companies doing snowmobile tours during winter. Id recommend west Yellowstone or North Yellowstone before Jackson. You'll meet tons of super interesting people, along with the annoying asian tourists that flock to the area.

If I had to do it all over again I'd either do that or something international. If you have a college degree, the TEFL program seems pretty cool from the outside looking in. I have several friends that are doing/have done it and all have nothing but positive things to say about it. If money really isnt a big deal to you there is always the peace corps for international work. You'll learn a new language, a new culture, and it look incredible on a resume for international companies.

Also check out workaway. If you're serious its worth the $99 bucks to register, at least that's how much it was when I did it. Stay away from Europe in general if you go the Work Away route, though. They arent fans of tourists working without work visas, which you will never get with workaway, and they are super strict on it.

Whom ever owns MMR...Bruser family?

CEO of Brown & Root...A. Dupuy?

Who owns Cajun Constructors?

Family of guy who owned Amedisys, but drowned @ Mallard Lakes during 2016 flood.

One of Price Leblanc’s heirs?

The R in MMR is Rutland, Pepper Rutland. He's definitely on the list since he took the original one public then rebuilt it into close to a billion dollar revenue company/year. Bruser is a shareholder, I'm pretty sure, but not on that level.

Also, one of the owners of performance contractors, Im pretty sure, still has residency in Louisiana, MMR has a good bit of shareholders (at least 20, with Rutland being the majority) Performance is the exact same size, if not larger, and only has two.

I dont' know about Brown and Root.

I don't know the cap structure of Cajun, but if they have several shareholders I doubt any of them approach the 100MM mark even with equity. However, if there are only a few (2-3), it's possible.

I also doubt Rispone is on the list. Per some random article I found ( LINK ), he's well below that level. Rispone's company, ISC Group, with an estimated revenue of 31.8MM ( ISC Revenue )pails in comparison to MMR which is sitting pretty at ~$650MM ( MMR Revenue ) So I seriously doubt Rispone makes the list.

ETA: Also, I don't know if he's been mentioned, but depending on when this list of 77 was created, Im sure Glen Post (Ex-CEO of centurylink and in the Post, like the Cereal, family) was/is on it. I seriously doubt he still lives in Monroe, though. The new CEO, Jeffrey Storey, could potentially be on it as of right now. He's definitely approaching the $100MM mark. If he isn't there yet, I'm sure he will be in a few years since he is a new CEO as of 2018 and his stock options probably haven't vested yet.

Most of us are discussing state business leaders, but I'd bet a good bit of that list of 77 is made up of white-trash oil money in the shreveport area along with some of the larger farmers in the state. By large I mean at-least 8000 Acres - I dont' think you could make it on the list with just 5000.

Allen Jenkins of Alexandria could well be on the list. He's nothing but an a-hole drunk, but the dude has serious deep pockets. There's also a wealth manager in Alexandria that sold his ~1000 employee company, in a different state, to Citi Bank in the 90s. He MAY be on this list, but he's one of those guys you would never have a clue.

As others have states, James Davison is certainly on the list.

Final Edit: The Bossier family in Alexandira could also potentially be on the list. They own Diamond B construction which is approaching $100M/year in revenue. Id imagine, depending on valuation model used, the equity in that company plus actual liquid worth is coming close to that mark.
I'm booking four hotel rooms in Vegas on January 19-25. Not looking for yall to find me hotel rooms, I've identified some. This is for a business trip for our sales guys and the block of rooms for the convention is already booked.

Do yall have any tips for finding cheaper rooms? We'd like to stay on the strip if possible. Any of you had luck calling the sales manager and negotiating?

re: LASIK Surgery

I had PRK done in January and would do it all over again if I had to. With that being said, if you're vision is bad enough to warrant PRK, do not believe the doc when they tell you it will be "mild to moderate" paid. When my eyes gained sensitivity back from the numbing drops it legitimately felt like someone was holding my eye lids open and pouring lemon juice on them. This persisted for around 3-4 days. Recovery was also a mother trucker. 2-3 weeks before I could return the font size on my monitors back to normal.

I hear lasik recovery and pain is much different/easier. Get the wavefront lasik if you are a candidate. In regards to insurance, usually the doctor will just beat whatever discount they offer so they dont have to deal with them. Best of luck
Regardless of this ridiculous best rehab/recovery option, this thread is a great reminder that sometimes the OT can be serious and have someones back.

OG - Good on you for reaching out and asking for help! That takes a ton of courage. Keep your head up. The OT is sending tons of prayers and good vibes your way. Take the good advice in this thread and apply it, and like one poster said, take it an hour, or even a minute if you have to, at a time. Best of luck.
Bourques

Used it several times while living in midwest and west coast for all sorts of meats and crawfish.
Standard Poodle, German Shepherd, Weimaraner, or German Shorthair Poodle. All are great dogs. Id only recommend the GSD if you own your place or plan on using a loophole to make him/her and "ESA".

I have a standard and a german now. If you are going to be keeping them inside during the day Id go with the poodle. The no shedding thing is a dream. I just keep mine clipped like the below - too much work when their hair is long.
