But I'm guessing the intruder got shot in the back while attempting to flee

This is the only circumstance that I can think of.

People need to stop acting like Texas is any different than anywhere else when it comes to stuff like this. They convicted Daniel Perry and sentenced him to life for ending a fat arse rioter who pointed an AR at him whilst he and his criminal buddies were illegally blocking a public roadway.

It took a pardon from the governor to right that wrong.

Found a different article that mentioned he was shot multiple times.

So I'd guess either he was shot in the back attempting to flee.....or that forensics showed that at least one of the shots was fired from much closer range than the others, like an execution shot after he was already hit and down.

My money is something to do with this woman

Federal law says anyone with the felony can’t possess a firearm, but Texas says
Texas Law: Texas state law is slightly different but still restrictive. A person convicted of a felony may only possess a firearm at their own residence after five years have passed since their release from confinement, parole, or probation.

I would absolutely plea that it was still self defense.

I am not subjecting my family to a future where the same armed intruder decided he wanted to complete the challenge.

I'd go to jail by shooting them where ever I could shoot them however I could shoot them in my own home if that's what the law states. I will not be made a bitch, nor jeopardize my family's safety.

There's obviously more to the story than they are making public.

In that case he would only be charged with felon in possession, not murder.

There is more to this story.

Yeah that's what I figured. Just not too many reasons why he would be arrested for murder. Unless he was arrested for something like this and they are phrasing it as "arrested for murder" without providing a reason for the arrest.

If someone breaks into your house, it should immediately become an international waters situation.

You break into someone’s house you should have to deal with whatever happens to you.

If the guy wants to tie you up and keep you as a sex slave in his basement oh well, you broke in.

Phillip Samuel Lozano was banging his ole lady, when he tried to jump out of the window he was shot in the arse, then fell back in the home.

This was my thought as well. You are not an intruder if the wife invites you in.

Either there's more to the story here or this is a lot of home cooking and some LEO settling a score...

He could have shot him in the yard then dragged him into the house before the cops got there, and it may have been blatantly obvious that's what he did.

If you cant shoot people in Texas, where can you shoot em? There has to be a whole lot more to the story.

I’ve said it on this forum before, but Texas is not the “freedom bastion” people think it is.

armed home intruder

Gotta believe that's what the cops are questioning. Could be someone they knew and were using home invasion as the reason their enemy was laying dead in their house.

This story might be more up-to-date.

From the article:
quote:

Authorities have not said whether Florez and Lozano knew each other. No additional details about the incident were released.

Maybe they have evidence that the shooter lured him there to kill him.

Maybe- but the investigators are quoted as stating that the intruder was both armed AND forced his way into the home. How do you lure someone to force entry into your home?

see... you blame the person and not the media for setting him up. is society rage addicted? maybe. But the media is the one suppling the fuel.

The problem is, the media doesnt ever just report the new anymore. Thats something everyone is so accustom to. They paint the picture THEY want YOU to believe. Thats the problem.
