You have to pay a premium to live in a safe neighborhood in most of urban/suburban Louisiana. Even then, you aren't guaranteed peace and quiet.

LA is a shithole.

Lived here all my life.

Children have been told they are not allowed to go to a university in this state, nor are they allowed to come back here.

Wife and I will be able to follow them wherever they go.

And I CAN’T freaking wait!!

I'd only live in Missouri or Kentucky on that list

But you're comparing a city to states, when the OP is the "Top 10 cheapest states to live in"

Give me a town in Washington over a comparable town in Alabama any day of the week and twice on Sundays

Okay so there are homes in nola that cost more than homes in bum frick Washington. So how is that still, you get what you pay for? His staement is saying nola should be better because it costs more.

Im saying there are cities, seattle, san fran, that are very expensive and i would rather live in all of those states vs those two cities. Because some place is expensive to live, doesn't mean its better.

Insurance companies couldn’t wait to get here after hurricane after hurricane, etc. now, their renewals are up and their rates are so freaking outrageous, all of those insurance companies are leaving the state. Hence, rate increases.

I seriously think automobile insurance rates would drop with fewer accidents.

It would really help with fewer lawsuits.

I didn’t know you were the authority on where cities get ranked in terms of livability. My sincerest apologies.

High insurance. High taxes. Property value is high, at least in the southeast.

Now if you did Top 10 lowest average income we are probably ranked pretty high. So there's that.

Don’t forget in many areas public school isn’t remotely an option to send your kids. So go ahead and throw private school tuition into the cost of living

I don't think Louisiana is without faults, but I'm picking Louisiana over those states every time.
