Louisiana used to at least have cheap living as a perk for putting up with all the ignorance, dysfunctionality, and other BS. That ain't happening anymore.

Top 10 least expensive states based on monthly expenses

1) Alabama
2) Missouri
3) New Mexico
4) South Dakota
5) Indiana
6) Kentucky
7) Oklahoma
8) Arkansas
9) Mississippi
10) West Virginia

Is the West Virginia landscape worth it when you find out that your neighbors are from The Hills Have Eyes gang?

The property taxes are outrageous here.

At least in Orleans Parish they are.

And homeowners insurance is even worse.

Also, everyone here has federal flood insurance. Not the case in other states.

Half the drivers on the road in LA don't pay for insurance so our insurance cost should be cut in half on this list.

Don’t forget how awesome we have it here. The weather patterns, hurricanes, beautiful infrastructure, police on standby, gorgeous public recreation systems, insurance costs, attorneys on every billboard, culture everywhere.

frick what’s not to love about Louisiana?

Any place South of Orlando (including Tampa) is expensive.
Anything North of Orlando (including Panhandle) is like MS.

The cost of doing business in Louisiana is way more than it should be. Sales tax is stupid high. Insurance rates are always chart topping.

It isn’t already?

During Covid when entry was restricted into a lot of places, I would go “Walk away… just, walk away.” when I saw the lines of what appeared to be The Humongous’ followers.
