Now do the blizzard of 1899.

Is the red on that graphic sleet? Can't tell what the bar at the bottom shows for the last 2 color gradients.

need to get the mid-level cold air into CenLA so all that ice turns to snow and it doesn't just kill us all

Just got back home from a short drive. There was 50+ cars lined up on the side of the road to buy firewood in Wylie area on Hwy 78. Guy that runs that temporary stand must be making mint today.

predicted this February cold back in the January snow thread. It was something to do with a Greenland block I think.

The Greenland block followed the SSW event. The SSW set all of this in motion.

Also, a few things.

1) climate change is real

2) using one weather event as proof or disproof isn't how it works.

3) this is a weather thread, not a climate thread. Go argue it somewhere else.

Gonna be interesting. Half of those people probably haven't burnt a fire in their fireplace, much less checked the chimney since Obama was in office.

It's been worse. Climate change is real but not every event is going to be caused by it.

This argument is old.

I’m 69 and I’ve seen colder weather, I’ve seen ice and I’ve seen snow. No, it doesn’t happen very often but it happens. It’s no more extreme now than it was 50 years ago.

I agree doubleb climate is not more extreme now than it was 100 yrs ago. Hell my father in law that is 71 remembers Robinson canal down chauvin freezing completely over. It damn sure got colder For longer when that happened 50+ years ago

With these things so hard to predict, I’m wondering what the chances of that layer of warm air to erode and more snow show up in areas where they are predicting freezing rain and sleet.

At this point it’s just fingers crossed for the least amount of negative impact

Sounds like one of the nut-job liberal climate-change-global warming groups planned on having a meeting in Louisiana. Its funny how extreme snow and ice follows those idiots around.
