That map makes it look like we are headed for an ice age

I agree doubleb climate is not more extreme now than it was 100 yrs ago.
I remember my GGF telling me about the snow storms and cold on the Northshore in the late 1890's early 1900's. So cold it busted the bark off the trees.

here was 50+ cars lined up on the side of the road to buy firewood
Same in McKinney on 380 at the two places between Hardin and Lake Forest. One car actually ran into the back of FedEx truck so police was on the scene

Made a run to the grocery half hour ago. This was the line for firewood(maybe 30-40 cars). Came back by 10 mins later and the guy had closed the gates. Must have banked some serious cash because there was still some wood available.

What kind of damages can we expect with a good 10+ hours of frz rain?
Posted on 2/13/21 at 4:28 pm to trussthetruzz
Roads would be a shite show and widespread power outages would be my guess

If BR gets 0.70”-0.85” of freezing rain like the model on the previous page shows, we’re heading for category 2-3 hurricane damage to trees. Especially with the forecasted winds of 10-20mph.

I’ll ask again, is there any chance the warm air erodes and this can turn to snow instead of ice? I’m really not wanting 1-2 weeks of no power.
In the Feliciana’s that kinda ice will be catastrophic to the trees and power lines

It’s the mesoscale/ regional Canadian. Run every 6 hours vs the control Canadian

1-2 weeks?!
A bit dramatic, don't you think?

Lost power in Folsom for 5 days last time it snowed. Ice would be worse.
