Lockdowns absolutely shouldn’t happen, but does it not bother you guys that you’ll be paying for this in taxes as Medicaid reimbursements soar for the hospital care?

A huge chunk of people under 65 in Louisiana are on Medicaid.

In my opinion, Medicaid recipients who are unvaccinated should have to pay some sort of “covid coinsurance” or “covid copay” for the care their irresponsibility led to.

Why does it not bother this board about the Medicaid costs covid will bring?

You can contract Covid while being vaccinated, wearing a mask, and social distancing.

Shut the frick up.

All we need to do is flatten it, and we can get right back to normal. I think we could do that in about two weeks.

Do you have any evidence that Medicaid costs went up? Perhaps many of these Covid cases are younger?
What is your agenda?

ETA: And perhaps Medicaid went up as the economy was wrecked with the restrictions as more people went on the dole.

Without showing the percentage of those tested positive that graph is meaningless.

Obviously if you test more people, you will get more positives.

Are you sure that's possible in these uncertain times? Remember, we're all in this together.

The current cost to cover all the able body lazy asses on the expanded medicaid is what makes me angry. Doesn't matter what they go to hospital for.

We can just print more money you idiot. I’m not gonna pay for any of this, the rich are.

So we are doing personal responsibility now? I like it! Now let’s penalize for being obese as well. What about price reductions for those who exercise?

You trust that these are accurate numbers of “positive cases” even though the CDC just said the PCR tests are unreliable?

Where’s your proof Medicaid costs went up?

That sounds a whole lot like a mandate for a vaccine that is still in Emergency Use Authorization, baw. I'm told that free market mandates are okay, but government mandates will never happen.

These same people pay nothing for healthcare already and you expect them to pay a fee for not being vaccinated. Poor health decisions on their part pre-Covid are actually why they are having trouble with Covid.

We have an obesity epidemic in the poor community. That on the surface seems to be a contradiction. My biggest pet peeve for this whole thing is how we disregard the best cure for Covid. MAKE HEALTHIER LIFE CHOICES!! We have had a YEAR AND A HALF to do it but no most would rather rely on a shot that takes care of a specific problem but leaves the overarching problem unresolved.

I understand the R naught of this thing being over 2 times greater the original strain and that becomes exponentially higher than just 2 times when looked at it in a chain sequence, but what I don't understand is how is this thing so prevalent in 106 degree heat index weather? I thought UV light was already proven to be a strong combatant or deterrent.

We should say something like "two weeks to flatten the curve".

Just curious why you show a chart about cases yet discuss hospitals? All the people I know that have had it recently/now never stepped foot in a hospital.
