Can only speak for myself, but I've reached out to my elected officials several times over the past two years. I have no delusions that these people will be swayed by people like me, but at least I did what I could.

This is shocking, coming from LA. I expected something like this from CA or NY but not here.

This is pretty absurd.

The key is if the school REQUIRES Covid vaccine info or an Opt Out form. If they do this and you provide it then your kid will be sent if there are 2 current cases in the school.

Gotcha. So if there are 2 current cases he has to go home and can’t participate while those cases exist. If there aren’t 2 cases, then he’s good to go without the vaccine, right?

Has anyone seen this enforced at all during their 2022 school application? Everyone simply downvoted my post to hell saying it was not even asked about for two separate schools my children applied for and were accepted for in 2022

This would require idiot parents to go and test their kid for covid and then go report it to the school.
No one is doing that anymore, especially considering the vast majority of kids who had stupid enough parents to get them tested in the past showed very little symptoms and if they did, they lasted 2 days at most.

People are over this, at least everyone at the catholic schools are. No one is testing children for covid, and even when kids are home sick, the school isn't asking any questions about it. That's the way around this stupidity.

Same, I’ve been to a couple town halls as well the last several years but no delusions that my voice makes a difference.

Although our district attorney has been surprisingly candid and responsive when I contact her directly

If no one is enforcing then why even have the mandate?

I just got a notification form my kids' school earlier this week that a student tested positive for covid, so there are definitely still some idiots doing exactly that.

So a quick fact about Pope, he is retiring this year so he doesn't have to listen to his constituents.

Has anyone seen Covid-19 vaccination added to the list of required vaccines? Yes. St. George Catholic School in Baton Rouge sent out an updated required vaccines in my pre-k sons folder back in September i believe, that added the covid shot. We sent it back with a note stating implicitly, that we do not give consent for ANYONE to give our children the covid 19 shot. The school nurse agrees with us, but the archdiocese and current administration/principle is all in on covid and has been since the beginning.

WTF

Remember Eddie Murphy having a movie similar to this. People just voting on a name instead of actually knowing what they are voting for.

Could this be the final straw that finally ends public school education in Louisiana?

This Chyna virus covid krap needs to die a quick final death as of yesterday.

Yep! There are still plenty parents out there having their kids tested and believe all the kids need to be vaccinated.

This is completely false. There are parents that are aching to have masks back, and most of them are doctors. There is a long list of doctors and nurses i know that posted about "you need to get a shot" and "masks saves lives" because of the science they read. They were completely wrong but are still wanting masks back.

There is one i know of, in particular, that would inundate my kid's class facebook group about "wear masks". Ironically, she stopped wearing masks the second the mandates were lifted, and as far as i know, never got her kids the shot.

Those type of people, want the masks again, and will be switching out their "stand for Ukraine" facebook profile pic back to "wear a mask, it saves lives" come election time.

We haven't had to submit the immunization records yet, but straight from St Tammany website:

quote:

Immunizations

The St. Tammany Parish School Board shall require each student entering any school for the first time and at any other time to present satisfactory evidence of immunity to or immunization against vaccine-preventable diseases according to state law and a schedule approved by the state Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH), Office of Public Health (OPH), or present evidence of an immunization program in progress. The School Board may require immunizations or proof of immunity more extensive than required by the Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH), Office of Public Health (OPH). Any student failing to meet the immunization standards shall be prohibited from attending school until such time as the immunization standards are met.

LDH currently doesn't list COVID vaccine in its requirements for entry to schools, so there wouldn't be any enforcement right now. I don't know if there is proposed legislation to add it to that list. But if and when there is, I'd imagine it will be enforced.
