Have either posted bail?
No

That’s not necessarily true as a blanket statement

I’ve seen so many people comment who say they knew this guy and what a huge pervert he is, how he used to abuse/mess around with young girls, etc... sounds like there were so many red flags yet nobody said or did anything? This obviously wasn’t his first rodeo.
Plenty of formal complaints. Jason Ard looked away.

I dont put anything past anyone, growing up in louisiana taught me that. I wish I saw more goodwill in people. I know that there are good people out there, they're just outnumbered. I do hope the husband is thrown into general population, even though there are laws designed so he wont be.
Well as I’ve said before Louisiana doesn’t have a monopoly in sick fricks. This doesn’t reflect on this state as you can find these types of deviants everywhere. We are just in the thick of it and here our local news. And I believe these 2 are going away for a long time.
Every single population group in the world has the same distribution of people. LEOs, teachers, accountants, plumbers, attorneys, tire shop employees, all the same. This distribution includes some percentage of pervs. Its just that public employees (LEOs,teachers, etc) get attention when they get caught. The accountant or the plumber or the attorney or the tire shop employee who gets caught almost never makes the news.
The world is full of horrible people who do horrible things, and there is not a single group of people on the planet, regardless of how you may define that group, to which this doesn't apply.

Well you get 60 count of child porn and 2 rape of 13 year old kids you pretty much make the news even if you are the assistant to the assistant manager at Build a Bear.

Very wise post. Wish more people would take a deep breath abs think for 5 seconds before they speak, type, post, etc.

If you know you are not diddling children, you can feel free to condemn the sickos who are.

Actually, wouldn’t a BAB worker being a chomo be a bigger story since it is a child centered business?

I would have been up at school escorting my child to the office for some questions before I turned them loose to the same people who let a pedophile have intimate access for the past umpteen years
Ok
That would be worthless. But you can do it.
And there might still be a pedo there.

Sheriff's office claims they had no knowledge of restraining order filed against Denny in 2011...even though they served it to him and stamped it as received by their office

LIVINGSTON- A disgraced deputy who was fired this week after being arrested for child rape and 60 counts of child porn was the target of a restraining order filed by a woman in 2011. Livingston Sheriff Spokeswoman Lori Steele claimed Friday the sheriff's office had no knowledge of the restraining order, but the WBRZ Investigative Unit found that is not the case. The woman, who filed the protective order, alleged Dennis Perkins used his unmarked unit to conduct surveillance on her boyfriend. The WBRZ Investigative Unit requested an interview with Livingston Sheriff Jason Ard and wanted to get more details about the order and what action was taken against the deputy. Text messages between Steele and Chief Investigator Chris Nakamoto show she claimed they did not know: NAKAMOTO (10:45am) -Good morning, Lori. We would like to put in another request to interview Sheriff Ard today. STEELE (11:23am) -The AG's investigation is still ongoing. Sheriff continues to work with the AG's Office on the AG's investigation. Sheriff has no further comment at this time. NAKAMOTO (11:24am) -Did the sheriff's office (before Ard) investigate the protective order that was filed? STEELE (12:10pm) -How can LPSO investigate something we have no knowledge of? Jason Ard was not the sheriff in 2011 when the protective order was filed, however he was working for the department at that time. Steele claimed in her text messages that LPSO had no knowledge of it. This document shows the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office received the restraining order on September 14, 2011.
quote:
The WBRZ Investigative Unit also confirmed it was the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office that served Perkins with the restraining order. So, how they did not have knowledge about it is a mystery. Dennis Perkins and his wife Cynthia Perkins were both charged with 60 counts of child pornography, and counts of child rape. Cynthia was a teacher at a Westside Junior High in Livingston Parish. She resigned on the day of her arrest. Dennis Perkins was fired by Sheriff Ard after his arrest. Ard condemned Dennis Perkins' actions, but also called him a "friend and family member."

I see WBRZ edited the story
Curious to see if Ard really tries to throw Willie under the bus for this

Ard was probably the one who would have had this come across this desk, being 2nd in command

Regardless, Ard and Perkins were boys in ever sense of the word. You can guarantee he knows how devious and reckless Perkins is. They hang out together as friends and work together as employees. Ard may not have known what Perkins was doing in his home, but given all the complaints and the lie detector test results he's obviously seen regarding Perkins, as the head of an agency who takes the black eye when any single deputy gets a black eye, Ard is pathetic for not removing this liability from his agency years ago. Just goes to show you whats more important to Jason Ard. His friendship with his boys, not upholding the law and the protection of the citizens of LP. #comeatmebro

I have defended buddies over some pretty bad behavior. Often when I shouldn't have. It's not clear exactly where the line should be drawn on loyalty to friends but it's way, way, way the frick short of this shite.

you could say that about almost every parish sheriff in the state. They are omnipotent as long as they share the wealth and protect their own
