You serious, Clark?

The measure is by the bottom half of the conference. The bottom of the SEC can beat or give hell to any team on any given Saturday.

In the BigTen, BigXII and ACC, you have one, maybe two, conference games each year where there’s anything actually at risk. In the SEC, there are almost zero sure wins week in, week out.

If I had to guess, the plan is to bring in two, with Leavitt’s injury they may want something closer to a 1A & 1B than a QB1 & QB2, Leavitt got a little butt hurt in a Farve/Rodgers, Rodgers/Love sort of way and wanted to keep his options open & take other visits.

But Landen is probably up to speed with knowing the plan, the chance to compete and if he doesn’t get the job, he’s on deck and gets to learn under SL for a season.

TLDR - Landen was told the plan, realizes we need 2 and was ok with Kiffin heading to Knoxville

Had a late meeting in Plaquemine. Heading back to St George, listening to Fiesta Bowl pregame on ESPN radio. Mark Kestescher (sp?) reports, “I was told that Lane never thought they would make it this far.”

Fine, ethical sports journalism there. Reporting based on an unnamed source opining about someone else’s thought process. Highly credible reportage.

It wouldn’t take months to draft an employment contract for a head football coach. There’s a basic form and it’s only necessary to refine some particulars, here and there.

A letter of intent or memorandum of understanding with a steep liquidated damages clause were he to back out is sufficient to “lock him in” and would delineate the business terms which were agreed to, providing the framework for the contract.

There are publically available copies of contracts for Miles, O & Kelly. Review all three and you’ll see a lot of form language with minor circumstantial adjustments.
