Most of Louisiana is nothing like New Orleans.

My daughter is in Mississippi.

One son moving to Texas forba new job. I highly encouraged this. His fiancés family probably isn’t happy with me.

The other son is here but wishes probably that he was elsewhere.

Living here is hard.

Family and friends have their cyclical nature and place in your life, but it’s not everything. Sure, immediate family is special but deep down everyone has their own lives. Friends tend to be more fickle and less interesting as time passes. Just gets worse after age 40. Moved to Laramie years ago and couldn’t be happier with the outdoor activities and quality of life.

Well, it makes us tough. And we love life more than others that take it for granted. So, buckle up buttercup.

Grew up in Texas and left when I was 20 to move to Arizona. Moved from Phoenix area at 24 to Charlotte NC and left there at 30 to move to Baton Rouge.

I’ve had fun and met good people everywhere I’ve been.

What’s the saying about a goldfish - it’s forgotten everything by the time it goes around the bowl once.

Living in New Orleans is kind of like that. By time this earth goes around the sun once we’ve forgotten. Cornerbacks and Louisianans both need short memories. Probably why so many good cornerbacks come from Louisiana.

New York maybe is a hell of alot better.
It's suffered in the past 18 months, but quality of life in New York has been radically superior to Louisiana for decades. For one, crime is WAY lower.

You could go to Florida, improve financially and still have hurricanes. Evacs... As always, are on you.

Texas, same thing unless you go to tornado/ice storm alley. Dallas is also hot AF.

Tennessee has bougieville out east and bulletville in the west. Wyoming/Montana/Idaho are awesome but at 51 with no snow experience you're SOL.

So buy a condo in FL, TN, tX for permanent residence/tax purposes
.. and a cabin in Montana, or wherever you'd like to be outside hurracun season.

I used to love NOLA but I left for FL in 2001. I can’t imagine living there now. It’s a complete crime ridden shithole that’s been taken over by ignorant progressive racists. It’s depressing to think about really.

I don’t know how you baws put up with the bullshite that comes with living in NOLA. The majority of my extended family bitches about it incessantly yet won’t leave, I guess due to family being there. The relatively high COL, crime, weather, corruption, infrastructure, and job market would preclude me from ever living there.

Love Louisiana and its people, culture, and vibe, but you couldn’t pay me to live there.
