List the ways people you know have made their lives more complicated just to prove a point

All the talk about the guy who decided to not get his kid a SSN and therefore make literally everything more difficult made me wonder about things I've done to make a point but only ends up making my life more difficult.
Can't think of any. But I have a family member who thinks just because he gets paid cash for work he doesn't have to file his taxes and hasn't for like 15 years.

Hmmm reminds me of how we just had an election where people voted for literally fascism just to “own the libs”

I cut myself off from some toxic relationships just to prove I didn't need them.
Turns out I actually didn't need them.

I don't know how to tell you this but you just proved he's right.

I know a girl who will destroy every relationship she has to prove to herself that she’s a victim. I bet you know a girl like this too.

I've known a lot of people who did home automation/harmony remote/similar efforts where the end product was way more obnoxious than whatever mild inconvenience they were trying to solve

I once had a trans person help me at a nordstrom rack and they were very short and rude to my wife (no pics) and I. My wife (still no pics) killed They/Them with kindness and They/Them eventually eased up a bit. once calmer I asked about what made them be so short with us to start, did they have a bad morning, etc. They/Them told me that people cause issues with They/Them every day because "most people are transphobic." I put it in kinder terms but I made sure to tell They/Them that they have run ins with people everyday because they act like an a-hole. People are rude to They/Them because their actions not because of their appearance.
I don't think it sank in and They/Them probably still has altercations with "bigots" daily when the reality of the situation is people take issue with the fact that They treat people like shite, not that they are confused about what's between their legs.

I leave 83 tabs open on my phone and computer. Drives everyone around me nuts and prob slows things down but I hate closing a tab.

Ok I'll play along.
I'm a white male so fascism doesn't complicate my life, and I still owned the libs.

To be fair, it was a Norstrom rack and I could never afford to buy anything from the Nordstrom.

A guy that has lived in the woods for 8 years to spite his brother for selling a trailer he was living in. Real story

I drove a 1990 square body suburban for over 20 years to prove that it could keep going with regular maintenance. And to prove that buying new vehicles every 6 years is fricking stupid.
Would still have it if some Karen hadnt rear ended me. Dumb bitch.

Yea, like the fascist Democrat administrations that use government agencies, an aligned MSM and liberal tech companies to go after their political opponents?

Yes, the ones that also want to censor speech, didn't hold a primary to keep voters from messing with their plans (I mean how would voters know whats best for them?), tried to remove their political opponents from the ballot in a bunch of states, and are beholden to the war machine.
Also GurleyGirl is a top notch punny username.

Anything with politics and family.
There's no positive of trying to rub political wins into family members faces. Or vice versa, lashing out at family members because of political losses.
Family should transcend politics.
