What you're saying doesn't contradict anything. Republicans responded by trying to get legislation through to require these companies to provide backdoors.
Israel stepped in with backdoors of their own for sale so it kinda went away but it'll be back as communications get end to end encrypted without companies holding the private keys.

I don't know what he is accused of and I don't care. Those folks were on public property. What they did is nothing compared to what was done in the real riots. Yet, we've just let bygones be bygones for that couple billion dollars worth of damage.

After you purchase a Liberty safe you can personally change the code to any sequence you choose. However, Liberty can still provide a back door or master type code to open the safe. Presumably this would only be done at the request of the proven owner. It now appears that they extend that courtesy to Federal LEO merely for asking.
Thankfully, I have a Cannon safe with a dial. F**k Liberty.
