Partisan politics is a lot like sports, you rationalize for your team things you rip other teams for.

Lol.you got the clot shot.

Well, it wasn't a choice I made without much reflection, but my brother and I were balancing work life and health care for our 92 year old father who was battling some heart issues at home and in the hospital. He was on hospice and required around the clock care. We decided to not risk the unknown and since we weren't able to fully quarantine, it was a health decision for our dad. We did get four more years out of dad and worked him into assisted living and no hospice where he lived out his life, going out on his terms. He was a tough and resilient man who was sent home to die, and wasn't ready to go out like that.

Now I ask you, would you do everything it takes to minimize risk for a loved one?

And for the record, I got one "clot" shot and one booster during the time caring for our dad, and had covid 4 times, lol. The shot, in hindsight, was worthless, but I was not going to be the reason my dad died.

Agreed, after getting the shot for prevention, still getting covid and dad's health improving, we said screw getting multiple boosters later on. But in the moment and at multiple doctor's prompting, it was a mitigating risks decision when he was at his worst.

My son was born less than a mile from UC Berkeley in 2020. I could write a novel with the amount of wtf liberal insanity through the entire process.

You learned a lesson the hard way: most doctors and health care professionals are whores for the pharmaceutical companies and government money.

I did the same, one clot shot and one booster, I traveled extensively during Covid because plane flights and hotels were dirt cheap and some of the places I wanted to go required it and again, I was no more afraid of the shot as I was Covid which was in both cases not at all. Never got Covid, never sick before Covid or after the shots. Got the sniffles maybe twice.

But hey, love all you purebloods no issue with your conviction - you all are certainly loud and proud.

If we really want to have fun, we should find the threads on the PT Board with all the conservatives demanding for and defending the stimulus bills during Covid.

Many of those staunch fiscal stalwarts were flat out demanding stimulus funds.

The price of our morals and liberty are much cheaper than we are willing to admit. Even now after so many sold theirs, they won’t admit it.

Most of them are living on the level of paycheck to paycheck and the stimulus money was a financial bailout.

All the ballers talking about their stimulus checks like a welfare queen.

I opposed COVID lockdowns even in March 2020.

I’ll try to find some threads proving that. I largely stopped posting during that period, because everybody else supported lockdowns and kept downvoting me.

The whole experience was eye popping.

All the quarantine stuff and masks were largely just an inconvenience but the damage done to the economy and the middle class was permanent. "Conservative" people basically saying frick your freedoms to others. People begging for lock downs just so they could avoid going to work. I completely understand how the whole nazi thing happened now.

It was apparent almost immediately that the best thing to do was protect the vulnerable people and everyone else should have been walking around licking door knobs and hand rails. America should have led the charge world wide in natural immunity and "frick these lockdowns." Trump fricked up locking down, and then the first two years under Biden were a nightmare.

Anyway, it seems that the Fauci hearings have brought back the COVID NPCs on Reddit.

I had to avoid that website during COVID except for the LockdownSkepticism sub and the (eventually banned) NoNewNormal sub.

It’s not like Redditors ever apologized for how bad they were during COVID, but by 2023 they pretty much just stopped discussing COVID, so the website became more bearable.

But now there’s all this shite on there defending Fauci-it’s like 2020 all over again.

You realize none of us are getting money from big pharma, and most drugs are generic? Hell I wouldn’t have to prescribe much more than antibiotics if patients actually took dietary modification and exercise seriously.

Guilty, most of my patients are Medicaid/medicare, so I don’t really have a choice in the matter.

The hearing is what made me think of the thread and go back to read some of it again. I’d forgotten about the St Louis dad situation and how insane it was that people wanted him arrested and charged with murder if someone died in the city. Wild times.

My wife runs drug studies. They dropped everything for the Johnson and Johnson trial. I don’t fault docs for telling people to get vaccinated. They don’t make anything off them. But the hospitals definitely pressured everyone to code anything and everything Covid for that extra capital. And then lots of them had to make major cuts in 2023 when that money dried up and they were overstaffed.
