Well, I have around a dozen doctors from different specialties in my family and friend circle none of whom put politics before objective research. I bounced questions off of them constantly. They'd send me articles, data sets, medical papers, etc., opine on them and tell me where they agreed and disagreed. Not a one was confident enough on March 9th as you were.
This is an excellent learning point from covid. A lot of doctors at the time and today are dumb and should not be trusted. It was a lot of group think and following of marching orders. To this day and likely for the rest of my life I will be very picky and skeptical of any doctor providing services for myself or my family. The credibility in the title of MD was and will for a long time be drastically reduced.

don’t fault docs for telling people to get vaccinated.
A vaccine whether it worked or not was the only thing that was going to get the world moving again. It was paramount that it happen ASAP just to get shite functioning again.
Everybody bags Trump for pressing so hard on it but the alternative was lockdown for foreseeable future. Theres no telling how long it would have lasted and how a Biden white house would have handled it. Where Trump fricked up was not pressing for life as usual. He did leave most decisions up to the states as he should have done, but he should have been openly vocally anti lock down.
The vaccines were a colossal failure IMO from a pure vacinee performance standpoint but the die was already cast with the "2 weeks behind italy" lockdown a year earlier. At that point there was only one way out.

I actually WAS a leftist back then. Summer of 2020 turned me conservative, and it was quite a hard turn too.

From what I’m reading there, he caused controversy by going to a father daughter dance while he had an asyptomatic COVID case?
Eh, honestly, he should have gotten arrested just for going to a father daughter dance. Those dances creep me the frick out. But, no, the fact that he had COVID while going to the dance shouldn’t have been part of the reason why he got arrested.

Also remember when BigBerg did his part to save grandma by signing up for one of the early vaccine trials? No one was worried the vaccine would turn him into a retard. Since he already been retarded from way back him.

Not even that. He didn’t have Covid. His older daughter just got back from Italy and called to ask the hotline what to do. That’s it. They told her and her family to quarantine out or precaution. He went to the dance with his younger daughter. When there, he got news that the older daughter tested positive and he left. But people wanted him arrested and doxxed, etc.

Covid deniers share the retarded gene with the Covidians.

Imagine what the world would be like had we not shut everything down, closed schools, fricked up our young with virtual schooling, spent insane amounts on stimulus, etc.
Scruffy can only dream.

I lost an uncle to it. I personally think the treatment was what killed him - it was in the ventilator + remvesdimir era of the whole thing and he was a reasonably fit man in his early 50's. Regardless, it was/is real but it didn't take an MD to understand that it was an upper respiratory virus and preventing exposure was a futile effort. Everyone was going to get it. Flattening the curve sounded good in theory but in practice it required lock down.
frick it was/is infuriating to see it all play out. Its amazing how rapidly and completely fear swept the nation. We're supposed to be a nation of rebellious colonials, not subservient pussies.

The majority of us kept living our life as normal as possible.
The barking dogs, on both side, made aii the noise.
The shutdowns and mandatory vaccinations were ridiculous.
People are still getting Covid today, and life goes on.

Remember how NOBODY got the common cold or the flu from 2020 to 2022?
I remember.
It was so spectacular to see happen in real time.

Has Scruffy figured out why Flu cases disappeared in that same time frame?
The U.S. went from 48 million flu cases and 2.9 million deaths in 2019 - 2020, to 2000 flu cases, ~20 million Covid-19 cases and 3.4 million deaths in 2020 - 2021.
Did shutdowns, mask mandates and social distancing kill Influenza, but not Covid-19?

I’m believe it was the ventilators and remvesdimir and they still tried to push it. Crazy times. We lost a family member at least 3 years after it was over. Covid popped up on his death certificate yet he was doing well at hospital and set for release next day. We think they gave him a clot shot or the remvesdimir that day and it killed him. And the hospital got money for it being Covid. He didn’t die of Covid.

Looking way back at my user history, it seems like the Tigerdroppings mods deleted my comments I made in March 2020 complaining about COVID lockdowns.
I have zero comments in my history between 2017 and 2023.
Yes, I was generally inactive on Tigerdroppings during that period. But I’m 100% positive that I briefly came back to Tigerdroppings in March 2020 (after having previously not been on the site since 2017) in order to complain about COVID lockdowns. I was like the only person on Tigerdroppings who opposed lockdowns during that period.
I eventually gave up after a few days and didn’t come back to Tigerdroppings until 2023.
I didn’t realize until now that the mods apparently deleted all my anti-lockdown posts.
