Leg cramp remedies anyone? Update Page 9 ***

So, twice now in the last month, I have been awakened a couple of times a night with severe leg cramps in both legs. I mean, painful cramps, and it happened again last night. Sometimes they hurt so bad, I can't easily walk them off, and that happened last night. Ended up on the floor trying to push against the wall for relief. Break out into a cold sweat and just want to die when it happens.
Last night after they eased up a bit, I was able to put a heating pad on, and that seemed to provide some relief after a couple of minutes.
I also get lesser ones more regularly, but usually a couple of minutes of walking and stretching helps them.
Anyone have any remedies to share?

Eat more potassium.
Bananas are an excellent source

You could have both legs amputated.

Apparently pickle juice is supposed to be good for cramps.

I've heard that adding more magnesium to your diet helps. Obviously make sure you are hydrating. Perhaps it would also help to stretch before bed.
Hope you get them under control, waking up in the middle of the night feeling like you've been shot is no fun.

Haven't found anything that completely eliminates them.
stretching before bed helps a little.
Theraworx actually works fairly well.

Pickle juice.
And have you have the Covid?
Seems to be chatter about increase in cramping as a residual effect.

Water, I'm told.
This! I catch bad calf cramps if I've had a few days of drinking and did not rehydrate.

Make sure you're drinking enough water.
Depending on your age, it might be worth it to just head in for a check up. Vascular issues can begin showing up as leg cramps. The doc can also check your magnesium and potassium levels as well.

Used to suffer from extreme muscle cramps shortly after the rather sedentary work from home nonsense started...At the office I would get up and go for walks around the office buildings .5 to 1 mile a couple times a day.
Resolution was simply - stretching, range of motion exercises, followed by more stretching.

Good advice all.
I spent all day outside yesterday doing tons of yard work, much more than normal. I did drink a decent amount of water and a gatorade, but didn't seem to do the trick.
When they hit, I can't imagine much worse of a pain. When I had the last one a month ago, I actually passed out from the pain and fell and hit my head. Then woke up in pain. Not a fun night.

Hydrate, potassium, and magnesium will help prevent cramps. Bananas are good but greens are better as far as having both potassium and magnesium. Avocados and green, leafy veggies.

Being woke up with them makes you think you have been shot. It's pretty awful.
