Best sauce to compliment a steak

Posted by GeauxTigahs92 on 12/23/25 at 9:52 am
I personally do not like any sauces with my steak but my in laws are psychos and like their steaks well done so I am trying to find a sauce that will help the dryness that comes with a well done steak. I love my in laws dearly but I just cannot understand grown people who like to eat shoe leather when it could be the most tender and juicy meat out there. I plan to do ribeyes. I am thinking of doing a beurre blanc sauce but am open to other suggestions. TIA

The backyard is very good but kinda pricy for hamburgers and fries/tater tots IMO. They had a frozen old fashioned the last time I went that was absolutely phenomenal though and is worth going back for.

Dinner in Nola with kids

Wife and I are going to Nola for Christmas in the Oaks Friday and are looking for somewhere to eat around City Park/Lakeview area that is relatively kid friendly. We have a 5 and 1 year old so nothing too fancy. We were thinking maybe Felix's on the lake but I would appreciate any other recommendations! TIA

GW Fins is always my go to for a nice meal in the city. Cannot go wrong with anything on their menu.
Things got off to a rocky start. Prior to today my wife made it very clear she did not want my SIL alone with our kids. She doesn’t trust her to not try and indoctrinate our kids while we aren’t around. Literally writhing ten minutes my wife goes to the back of the house and there my SIL is with our older daughter totally alone. Wife is fuming and told her if this happens again she’s never gonna be around our kids again. About an hour later I overhear SIL blasting my wife to her other siblings that’s she’s not allowed to be alone with our kids. I told my wife who rolled her eyes. I truly hope it doesn’t get any worse but I will absolutely update if it does!
Beats me man. That's part of the problem. We are the only one with kids so it's a bigger deal to us than her other siblings. Once they have kids things will change. For entertainment sake I hope stuff happens but for family stability and overall happiness I hope it's a false alarm.
May have some drama tomorrow. My wife and sister are polar opposites in literally every aspect of their lives. Luckily I married the conservative, mentally stable one. They have been going at it really every since Kirk was assassinated. SIL thinks he is a POS and did not seem too upset over it all. That set my wife off and they have been at it ever since. Have seen her twice since then and they have not said a word to each other but it has been in larger crowds. Tomorrow will be just close family so there will be more chances of drama. My SIL has basically told my wife she is a terrible person and we are raising our daughters to be close minded because we do not expose them to gay/trans stuff and do not want them around her and her girlfriend. SIL has already stormed out of my wife's birthday dinner at a nice restaurant over Ukraine nonsense so she can fly off the handle at any moment. Just waiting for my SIL to say make some backhanded comment because my wife doesn't put up with her BS like everyone else does. Could very well end up in a screaming match between them and I have money on my wife all day. She pulls no punches when it comes to her sister. Will let everyone know if shite pops off! I plan to just observe and drink/eat and see what happens.

The LPO will perform the music while the movie is playing and it is phenomenal. If you ever have the chance to do it I highly recommend it. I have seen Jurassic Park and Home Alone and they are both fantastic. Very impressive how perfectly timed the music is and how they do not miss a single note.
Cannot wait to hear the shenanigans going on in people's families for Thanksgiving. Hope it's as messy as it has been the last few years!
Physical Therapist here. I see shoulder replacements often and they vary in outcomes. Mostly dependent on patient effort and attendance to PT. If she is an active and determined person then she should do fine. She won't get full range of motion back in shoulder but she will still be functional. She will be able to clean, feed, bathe, dress, and do all normal activities. Biggest thing is going to PT like she needs to and working it at home. Hardest part is the first 4-6 weeks because she will be in a brace 23 hours a day to protect shoulder and prevent dislocation. If you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer them!

What are some easy to intermediate hiking trails that offer good scenery? Definitely want to get out into nature while we are there if it works out.

Portland, OR

Wife is looking into going to a conference there next year in October and we are thinking of making a trip out of it. I know it's a long way off but trying to get an idea of it is worth going at all? Is it just totally out of control and not safe or are there pockets to avoid and others that are fine? I know Oregon is a beautiful state but Portland seems to be a shithole. I have done no research so just looking for some opinions. TIA.

Started it a couple weeks ago. Liked season one. Started season two today and was hoping the anti conservative crap would stop but I was let down. Is this a constant occurrence through the entire show? It’s not make or break but would be nice to not have to worry about it.
Going in a few months and just want some tips on good places to eat for all meals and any good snack spots. TIA
Biggest surprise was winning!

In all honestly I was shocked at how well we ran the ball and how good our defense was. I have very high hopes for this season after last night’s performance by the real Tigers!

We took a look at the Carnivals and damn they are nice. Wife is at the dealership now finalizing the paperwork for one. Didn't think a minivan could be cool but that thing isn't your mom's minivan of old. I feel like I'm in a space ship with all the tech and it spacious as hell.

That's why I'm asking the question. It's bigger than what we have now but I wanted other opinions on if it is big enough.

Buying a car

Wife and I are going look at a 2023 GMC Acadia this week. Has anyone owned one of these? If so, how did you like it and do you think it's enough space for traveling with two kids in car seats that need a stroller? That is the biggest reason for us getting a new car is need for more space. TIA

Started this last night. Not sure how I missed this when it was coming out. Watched the first two episodes and I really enjoyed it. Rami Malek is such a good actor. Please tell me this is worth watching and doesn't turn to crap in the later season.
