Used to work in the white squarish building at the center of the image.

LC had an awesome playground along the lake in the orange area but Rita took it out

There is NOTHING God can't handle..

A fellow was stuck on his rooftop in a flood. He was praying to God for help.

Soon a man in a rowboat came by and the fellow shouted to the man on the roof, "Jump in, I can save you."

The stranded fellow shouted back, "No, it's OK, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me."

So the rowboat went on.

Then a motorboat came by. "The fellow in the motorboat shouted, "Jump in, I can save you."

To this the stranded man said, "No thanks, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith."

So the motorboat went on.

Then a helicopter came by and the pilot shouted down, "Grab this rope and I will lift you to safety."

To this the stranded man again replied, "No thanks, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith."

So the helicopter reluctantly flew away.

Soon the water rose above the rooftop and the man drowned. He went to Heaven. He finally got his chance to discuss this whole situation with God, at which point he exclaimed, "I had faith in you but you didn't save me, you let me drown. I don't understand why!"

To this God replied, "I sent you a rowboat and a motorboat and a helicopter, what more did you expect?"

Jeff hypes everything on a normal storm, but he's right
The amount of people left in Vinton and the older structures, big trouble

Another 5mb drop since the last center pass ~80 minutes ago. #Laura still intensifying at a rapid pace. LINK

Unfortunately #Laura showing no signs of slowing down its intensification rate.

Latest extrapolated pressure is now down to 944.9-hPa which is a drop of ~5-hPa since the last vortex fix at 1725 UTC, or about an 1h 25min ago.

A nighttime landfall makes this so much more of a problem for people trying to ride it out. At least during the day you have a visual of what's going on. Tonight the power will be out, it'll be pitch black, and the water will start rising on you.

Reed Timmer did have the Dominator that was an armored truck that would stick to the ground like a barnacle on a ship so he could drive into tornadoes.

Just sayin'.

ETA: frick. Another tornado warning. Gonna be a long night for all of S. La.
