Your kid at Rice will be fine. They say only run from storm surge and the med center will not have any of that.

You can see my house from the Heights HEB. I hope the new Pipers BBQ place is good.

I walk to The Barking Pig from my place. Probably jog past your house often.

The poster on St. Anne street near contraband bayou will for sure flood out his backyard neighbors during this storm.

Na, my lot didn't flood during IKE. Should be fine. Neighbor put in drainage already to take care of his yard.

Have heard from a couple people Calcasieu will order mandatory evacuation soon. Take it with a grain of salt, but briefing starts in 3 minutes.

Damn. We are neighbors. I live a couple blocks north of the Pig.

Intense storms always want to go poleward as quickly as possible. The lack of perfect LLC and MLC stacking is probably responsible for its current nuanced northern movement. Who knows how those changes impact downstream landfall. Models coming in now to include the 12z GFS are inclusive of G4 and NOAA dropsondes.

That’s correct but the fact that Laura is already at the projected 4pm point north is interesting. Let’s see if this trend continues

I’m beginning to worry about storm surge more than anything. I live in Moss Bluff less than a half a mile from the river. We’re flood zone x, but still doesn’t make me feel any better.

X means it didn't get water during IKE or Rita.....but more development means more run off so not saying you are in the clear.

One good thing though is that the storm is very fast moving so rain shouldn't be too crazy.

I use an Apple app of a weather radar in which you can change the area of radar coverage you want to see and also zoom out to cover a large area or zoom in down to the street level.

I don't know about Android but I'm sure it has something comparable.

If trend continues does she not go as far west as anticipated or do I have that backwards?

It’s a solid neighborhood bar for sure. Decent bar food, small but good tap list and good drinks.
