What does the "M" stand for on the track it has for Laura?
It stands for "Motherfricker, you better pack your shite and get the hell out of here"
Or something like that.

Def not the king, his rep here isn't the best, moved here 5 years ago and heard all kinds of stories about him squandering his career

What site to use for storm surge maps as it relates to Laura. Projected.

Healthy outflow on the south side but still lacking on the north. That will improve over time and as it expands this will be one of the first signals of a strengthening phase.
@pppapin (everyone should follow this person) noted that the mid level center and low level center is still a little misaligned this morning with the MLC to the south of the LLC. Probably due to a little of that northern shear remaining. I'd expect that misalignment not to last too much longer though but until it does the strengthening will be moderated.

The hurricane currently looks a little ragged, with little or no
convection outside of the central dense overcast and the southern
quadrant banding.
Good news. Hope it experiences the same fate as Marco

flight level winds close to 75 kts (85 mph)
had a flagged ~71 kt (~82 mph) surface reading from the SFMR... but again it was flagged so it's believed to be a bad reading
