If I'm in Beaumont at a hotel, would i be better off just staying here or driving home to Gonzales, La?
Get out quick. It will be a shot show when people wake up and see the westward shift

The I-10 near the Orange/Vinton will flood sometimes right before you cross over into orange. You might not be able to get back if you stay in Beaumont. I would drive back.

How far west?
Now looks like it is making landfall at the Sabine. It was in Cameron. Close to a 30 mile shift west.

It's the diff between it being a cat 1-2 or a cat 3-5. Basically a lot more powerful and damaging.
Cat 1-2 knock out power, tear up your shingles, break branches and push trees down.
Cat 3-5 can wipe entire towns off the map, and have huge storm surges.

Major hits your house. Minor goes east or west 200 miles

How do you know when a horse gives you consent?? [/quote
When it doesn’t neigh of course.

So if you’re a Houston resident, do you bail now, or wait and see if it continues the westward shift?
