It is interesting that 3+ days ago the GFS wasn't even picking up on Laura at all. You had to look for distinct features to even find the Low (then it was just south of the Florida peninsula). At that time both the HWRF and HMON were picking it up, but were off on location. They likely missed the strength of the ridge. The hurricane intensity models have been damn good on both these systems. They even got the strength of Marco at this point pretty close.
