I suspect when Marco goes through gulf it will suck up most of the warm water and it will be cooled down a bit for Laura.

I'm not seeing Marco being strong enough to cause much upwelling and cooling of water. Some? Yes. But, if Laura is big/strong enough, there is plenty enough ocean heat to supply the energy needed to sustain Laura.

Sounds like Marco should get an upgrade to Hurricane based on recon.

Gotta love the OT weather experts that ignore everything the models predict

HH pass timed nicely with a recent convective burst. The system has been putting up a strong battle against shear this morning.

Many of the models are wrong more often than right.

To expand on an earlier thought I think Laura gets held up a bit longer over and near Cuba and it is enough to push the track back east and possibly landing as a 3. That water is prime temp and the shear affecting Marco will not be there.

This is exactly the opposite of what the professional Mets are saying but I’m sure you know more

But they always get it right in the end. Just like ETA on your traffic app.

@LeviCowan

Radar from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba indicates that #Laura's center is located just north of the SW Haitian peninsula. It remains to be seen how much Laura will interact with Cuba, but the track has clearly nudged south a bit compared to yesterday. LINK

Have you seen gas prices? We are having trouble giving it away right now. Supplies would normally be tight in August, but summer “driving season” demand was pretty much non-existent this year.

I figured out how to overlay the cones and hurricane/tropical storm watches & warnings on Google Earth. Pretty cool feature.

This is not good. If Laura passes Cuba as a solid TS she will blow up in the gulf

It is coming off Cuba as a solid TS either way. You'd have to ignore all models to believe otherwise.
