I bet they’re nervous to invest any money with Texas considering legalizing gambling.

We actually like the rooms better at L'A but it is kind of a weird/depressing vibe.
Mostly investing that money in to buying scum Texas politicians. No offense to Louisiana but there is absolutely no reason why Texans cannot gamble in Texas. Other than corrupt arse politicians.

Lauberge sucks. Horseshoe and Nugget are way better.

Yet the rooms stay booked solid 7 days a week.

I was legit impressed the first time I walked in.

Malfunctioning elevators, substandard rooms, and subpar table gaming!
Caesars in New Orleans had a major issue last year where the down escalator to the tunnel from the parking garage was broken for months.
You either had to cross Poydras on the surface or use the single elevator that takes you to the tunnel.
I find it dumb they just didn’t put the garage elevators to go down to the tunnel level instead of having to make the run down the escalator. Then you have the stairs in the middle of the tunnel which makes no sense because now you had to make a handicap ramp to make it accessible. I know it has been that way since it opened, but someone should have thought about that instead of making a hazard.

Stayed at Paragon hotel in Marksville four years ago. It was very run down.
Which is really sad because it was nice when it opened. Bunch of little bars in there with live music. Now they are used for storage.

It's dead. None of the gubernatorial candidates came out in favor of it and Adelson family that bought the Mavericks hoping it would get gambling legalized gave up on the effort and put the Mavericks up for sale. It probably won't come up for debate for another 8 years.

Stayed in the BR location recently and it too is very dated. It was opened in 2012 but apparently was built to 2005 standards. Today it feels ragged out and very non-premium.

2019 stayed in the BR location during a fricking lady bug infestation…I shite you not they were everywhere. Never looked out the window until we got back from the casino past midnight and they were having a party all along the window. Called down to the desk and they sent up a little lady with a vacuum cleaner.

Saw a middle aged woman get fingered in one of these elevators after a party by the pool once. Good times.
I had sex in the hot tub in the middle of the day there once.
So I have nothing but good memories of the place.

Those casinos aren’t for Louisianans, they’re for Texans.

I had booked a room there last spring and they told me all the rooms were "currently being renovated/updated." We ended up having a change in plans and canceled the stay so IDK how truthful that was.

LDL just completed a room renovation last year. they did all the standard rooms. took over a year to complete.

It was kinda of depressing when it first opened up. Dark, gloomy, and dull imo.

I stayed here once passing through. Very old and outdated. Combine that with long walks to parking or having to valet, most of the gym equipment is broken, and I’d much prefer a Marriot/Hilton type chain offering more convenience. Everywhere you go, you have to walk through cigarette smoke and trash. The restaurants are overpriced and average at best.
Unless someone likes to gamble or go to the casino, there isn’t really a benefit to staying there.

Ever taken a drink girl back to the room then smuggled her out via suitcase so she doesn’t get caught by management?

If that was true, they wouldn't be at the casino.
