I am glad there was no force evacuation. I didn't like feeling like an occupied country after Katrina with all the armed nations guard around.

I accept this as a valid point.

Tbh to bring up the evac when you have your one shot to take an enraged teedy to task is weak af.

There’s like 50 more damning things you could hit her with before getting to that.

I've never lived in NOLA, but I've visited many times and have a kind affection for the city. It makes me sad to see the condition the city is in currently. I'm just a casual observer though. I don't really have a dog in this hunt. I seriously feel sorry for anyone that has to live in a city with a mayor like Latoya.

Except... where do the employees live/work/eat/shop/pray/etc?

This, exactly.
And who "serves" the employees all the things they need to live in this place?

For better or worse, it no longer requires that many people. A town about the size of Morgan City could support "The Port of New Orleans."

In a weird way, I kinda respect her. Nasty bitch but you got to respect that she would defend herself.

It’s unbecoming for either adult to act the way they did. No doubt he was harassing her, but she is the mayor. Can’t act like an arse in public. She has Ed O syndrome. Neither can block out the noise. They hear everything & it affects the hell out of their psyche

Do we know for certain what that man "did" beforehand beyond what she's crazily implying in the posted video.

Even less…the “mighty” Port is all smoke and mirrors anyway. It’s all cruise ships now.
Gulfport is about to surpass them. Mobile has doubled them. They are just another mismanaged cesspool of government waste

How many people do you think live in Orleans parish that cannot drive? I can tell you it isn’t hundreds of thousands
It's not just about driving your arse out in an evacuation Earl. How many people have a dependable automobile? Money for gas? Money for hotel for days? Money to eat out every meal while you are out of town?

Would that figure top 100,000 residents in Orleans parish?

The bones are there. Like a good house - just needs a little love. Saw a lot of hope there recently after the storm. As another poster said, the storm really did spare the city, lack of power aside. Maybe thats just the spark the city needs. Guess we'll see.

This woman, who is not from here and is ignorant as a brick, was sent here to destroy this once fine city on purpose. She is succeeding beyond her handlers wildest dreams.
Does she ever actually work, or does she just hang around bars and restaurants in NOLA?

Let's be fair, New Orleans has some of the best food in the world and she do love to consume fine food & spirits while the City picks up the tab.

eally eye opening as to how much a 10-15 mile nudge of this thing eastward could have made a pretty huge difference for the main part of the city.

For all intents and purposes, NOLA was spared from the storm.

Absolutely wild how thin that line is for a CAT 4 (probable future CAT 5 Class) storm. Teedy still struggling with only minor issues. She's been out of her depth for a while now and the issues are only compounding.

And the council people aren’t keeping her in check so she does what she wants.

In New Orleans it’s not a vote for the best person. It’s a vote for the least worst person. All of them are in place to work the state and federal bailout system since there is no way to remedy decades of corruption and mismanaged money. They’d have to tax the residents so much that they’d all leave. It’s all about crisis and bailouts now.

They look forward to hurricane season since that means more money

He probably said something about her being an incompetent piece of trash.

Or called her Latoya the Destroya.

That’s probably why she kept saying, “My name is LaToya, here I am, I’m LaToya”.

I doubt very seriously he said what you’re trying to imply. If he would have said the N word those two body guards abs LaToya would have worked him over.

New Orleans is an export port. 2019 49% of all exports leaving the US left through the port.
