The fact there is even a single person thinking that's real is rather bad.

Yeah but that guy was trying to imply everyone was believing it and that's simply not true, not even the majority are.

Do you guys have any idea if this is true?

I believe the Russians might be saying it.

The likelihood of it being true is next to 0%.

As I pointed out on the PT....I don't think that bullshite is even a strong enough word to describe how bullshite this this rumor is.

This is a truck load of bullshite on top of an industrial bullshite mine in the downhill from a 1500 head cattle ranch.

The vast majority in there are very skeptical of that claim. If you're going to lie you probably shouldn't make it one where anyone could simply look at it and see

At the time he posted the majority seem to be running with it. Also look at the ratio for those that did, very upvote heavy.

Why don’t we leave the political board crap on the political board and not contaminate ours?

Upcoming is NEXT. I read an article today that said in testimony to congress, Miley and Austin say we are at the beginning of the "troubles" (my words) and not near the end. It seemed to me that they think we will become involved in a war with Russia and China though they didn't say it that directly. Miley thinks the Ukraine thing will go on for ten years.

China and Taiwan are the ones that should be learning lessons. China has just been shown their whole operational doctrine is shite.

Taiwan needs thousands of anti ship missiles and thousands of anti aircraft weapons. And they may be on the way there as we speak. I have a close enough relative who is in the military who says we are preparing for that war.

We’re better off fighting China now instead of 10 years from now.

Whatever the Chinese army’s land warfare doctrine is, it’s irrelevant to any future conflict with the United States. That will be almost purely and naval and air war.

I agree it’s highly unlikely that they captured a 3* US general in Mariupol, but can we all agree that the odds of US “advisors” being on the ground right now in Ukraine is almost 100%?

I’d guess we have CIA, SF and liaison officers working embedded with Ukrainian forces just behind the front lines.

The liaison troops are probably helping coordinate armament shipments and providing satellite intel while reporting back to US command structures located most likely next door in Poland.

This doesn’t even include all the mercenaries we are paying indirectly through back channels.

I cannot confirm, as this is all happening to fast for me to track, but #VeternsToday is reporting (#unconfirmed) that a #US 3-star general has been captured by #Russia|n forces in #Mariupol, where he was leading #Azov in battle. h/t
@ultimateOne

Not a chance in hell this is true.

Our O-9's aren't forward in a ground war like this, and haven't been since the Civil War.

From ISW

quote:

Russia has not yet committed forces withdrawn from the Battle of Kyiv back into the fighting in eastern Ukraine.  Russian reinforcements continuing the drive southeast from Izyum toward Slovyansk are from elements of 1st Guards Tank Army units that had been in the Kharkiv-Sumy area.  Russian units that retreated from Kyiv will not likely regain combat effectiveness for some time, and it is not clear that the Russians intend to return them to the fight soon. That said, an unconfirmed Ukrainian military intelligence report suggests that Moscow could soon send the 64th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 35th Combined Arms Army, a unit that reportedly committed war crimes in Bucha, into the fight in eastern Ukraine in the hopes that guilty members of that brigade and witnesses of its war crimes are killed in combat with Ukrainian forces.[1]

I suppose, but I saw a few pics of some people half-buried. They were all in civilian clothes. Not saying that is irrefutable proof, but I don't see the surviving Russians stripping their comrades of their gear/clothing and then going through the trouble of redressing their dead bodies.

FWIW one of the civilians interviewed in the NYT article on Bucha mentioned Russian soldiers shedding their unformed and donning civilian clothes in retreat and fear. Not saying this is the answer, but reportedly possible.

Remarkable footage of a single UA T-64BV tank engaging a Russian convoy, destroying a BTR-82A from an ambush position. Though other shots miss, appears that this held up the convoy enough for UA indirect fire to strike it, taking out other armour & leading to a retreat.

I know that tanks were originally designed to be "land battleship," but what kind of armored doctrine calls for tanks and other armored vehicles to fight like ships of the line?

Not afraid of this upcoming war. I'm afraid of the NEXT war.

Russia is going to take a HARD look at itself after this war and make sweeping changes in their military structure.

God help the world if an ultra nationalist Russia actually learns how to fight a modern war.

History and economics say that we do not have to worry about that.
