Jesus the dude was an obvious spammer... That should be reason enough. I was starting to think it was a mod or even higher up doing it bc of of inaction. I get rooting for your team, but that's not what this was. Good riddance

We keep hearing about all the manpower advantages Russia has, but then we hear they need help to build drones.

Our obvious Russian troll farm employee finally gets banned for psycho posting Lord Bebo.

Now 24 hours later, avowed Putin cock holster Sir Winston steps right into his shoes.

That is just nonsensical. Kill Trump and Vance takes over and he will cut Ukraine of at the knees immediately.

They laughed when they said it. Maybe making commentary about the wingnut tinfoil hat theories more than anything.

Can anyone explain the sub sect of the political right that aligns themselves with the Russia/Iran/Venezuela/Cuba/North Korea axis?

I am just absolutely baffled by this more than any other set of strange bedfellows on the current political landscape.

The only answer I've ever gotten from them is "Putin is taking a stand against immigrants and trannies that are ruining Europe."

Ok. And? So now we love the guy because of some set of domestic social policies that we agree with? Is that all it takes these days?

Talk about one issue voters.....

This thread is basically dead. Nobody cares about Ukraine with bigger issues like Iran on the table

Immigration and the erosion of truth and common sense that is occuring because of the trans movement is an existential issue for countries IMO. Far less so the latter but still. So I think chalking it up as "some set of social policies" and "that's all it takes" downplays the importance of those issues. But like you said, they are domestic no matter how important they are. Putins position on them is largely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

Still separate issues altogether. Folks like these are like arguing with a woman.

But Putin is who they look to for their testosterone fix. Although just 5’ 2” tall, he commands the artificial masculine presence of John Wayne.

It’s all staged, of course, but it works. Even Trump is subordinate to him. Putin represents the man of bygone days when LGBTQ+ were in their closets, women were in their kitchens and mistresses were in their beds awaiting their lovers. He is the most powerful man in the world right now.

So, his positions on topics carry an invisible power that is shaping world politics. His only rival is Xi Xinping, but somehow Putin is even managing a profitable relationship with him.

It’s amazing.

ISW Update June 19 2025

quote:

Key Takeaways:

The West has failed to convince Russian President Vladimir Putin to reevaluate his theory of victory in Ukraine in the past year. Putin’s public statements indicate that he continues to assess that Russian forces will be able to win a war of attrition by sustaining gradual advances along the frontline indefinitely.

Putin's theory of victory is predicated on critical assumptions about Ukraine's capabilities and continued Western support for Ukraine – conditions that the West can still change.

Putin continued Russia's reflexive control campaign that aims to deter Western provisions of military aid to Ukraine and NATO rearmament but appears to be adapting this campaign for different audiences.

Putin explicitly stated that he will not sign a peace agreement with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Putin used his meeting with international journalists to reinject longstanding Kremlin rhetorical lines into the media space, as ISW previously forecasted.

Russian officials appear to be struggling to posture Russia's economic strength amid increasing signs of a slowing Russian economy.

Ukraine and Russia conducted the fifth prisoner of war (POW) exchange in accordance the June 2 Istanbul agreements, amid reports that Russia artificially inflated the number of bodies released to Ukraine in previous killed in action (KIA) exchanges.

Ukrainian forces advanced in northern Sumy Oblast. Russian forces advanced near Kupyansk, Toretsk, and Novopavlivka.

Explosions were heard in Odessa on the night of June 19-20 . The city is under attack by Russian drones.

This is reported by correspondents of Suspilny.

The air raid alert sounded at 0:52. A few minutes later, a series of explosions were heard in the city. The Air Force reported groups of UAVs from the Black Sea in the direction of Odessa.

A high-rise building is on fire in the center of Odessa after being hit by a Russian drone, said the head of the Odessa Oblast Emergency Management Agency, Oleg Kiper.

Also, according to him, there is damage to civilian infrastructure, in particular residential buildings, a building of a higher educational institution, a gas pipeline, and cars. Information about the victims is being clarified.
