ISW Update Jan 26th

quote:

Key Takeaways:

Russian forces recently made further advances within Velyka Novosilka amid official Russian claims that Russian forces seized the entire settlement on January 26.

The Russian MoD notably is paying an abnormally high amount of fanfare to the claimed Russian seizure of Velyka Novosilka, very likely as part of informational efforts to shape Western perceptions of the battlefield situation in Ukraine and degrade international support for Ukraine.

The seizure and clearing of Velyka Novosilka will likely present opportunities and a decision point to the Russian military command on whether to redeploy elements of the Russian Eastern Military District [EMD] from the Velyka Novosilka area to other priority operational areas. Any redeployment of EMD elements from the Velyka Novosilka area over the coming weeks will indicate the Russian military command’s priority operational areas for offensive operations in Spring and Summer 2025.

Russian forces are poised to seize Toretsk in the coming days and a redeployment of elements of the EMD to reinforce the Russian force grouping in the Toretsk direction would indicate a new Russian priority effort to resume attacks in the direction of Kostyantynivka.

Ukrainian forces conducted a second strike on the Ryazan Oil Refinery in Ryazan Oblast on the night of January 25 to 26.

Ukrainian forces advanced in Kursk Oblast and regained positions in Toretsk.

Russian forces recently advanced near Borova, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhove.

Russian milbloggers criticized the Russian government on January 25 for not prioritizing the recruitment and training of Russia's next generation of military officers.

So you want an audit but you wont believe the results?

So what's the point of doing an audit?

Or do you and the rest only believe if and only if it shows fraud, waste and abuse?

That's kinda pathetic. Who wants to follow them in a conspiratorial resistance? If those guys are the best of the best of the Deep State, then how is the Deep State so hard to defeat?

EDIT: Gates hasn't tweeted since congratulating Trump the day after the election, so how do I get the secret Deep State marching orders?

And Fink seems to be backtracking on all his former leftist positions? LINK. Is that really leadership of the Deep State? Seems weak.

Trump just defeated part of it. Some of your heros like John Brennan got his security clearance yanked. Your other hero piece of shite Mustache Bolton got his security yanked. Slowly but surely killing them off.

This is all funnier now than when the far-left potheads would try to tell us about it after 9/11.

British Defence Intelligence
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE
27 January 2025

In the northern Ukrainian oblast of Kharkiv, Russian forces have gradually expanded a bridgehead on the west bank of the Oskil river. The bridgehead was initially established in late November 2024, and since then Russian forces have made tactical advances in the area.

Russia's focus in the area is the town of Dvorichna, which is contested between Russian and Ukrainian forces. Russia is also contesting for the town of Zapadne, 4km west from the Oskil.

Russia is almost certainly attempting to apply pressure to the logistics hub of Kupiansk, also located on the Oskil river, approximately 12 km south of the bridgehead. Russian forces already control the supply lines east and south of the city, and are likely attempting to take control over northern supply routes into the city.

So, how am I supposed to know what to do to help the Deep State? There's got to be a leader somehow ... or maybe it's run by a secret council? In any case, I want to get on their email list, or at least follow them on twitter. But you are right that I'm so ignorant about how to get involved. Can anyone help me?

I'll give my take on what 'The Deep State' is I guess.

I don't really see it as this coordinated effort at the top of our government (or the top of some secret world government). A lot of people envision a puppetmaster somewhere pulling the strings and I just don't think that's the case.

I see what people refer to as 'The Deep State' as many unconnected (or loosely connected) actors across various branches of governments that use their power to both benefit themselves financially and to fortify their own positions within the government to make sure they are able to exist within it for as long as possible.

So I guess I don't think 'The Deep State' even exists as many define it, but its a good catch-all term for corruption that I think has become so rampant that it appears there is some "All-seeing-Eye" type force at the head of it.

Only because you are clueless. Trump said exactly who it is, the bureaucracy protecting itself. You've obviously never had to deal with it directly, more like professional memo writers

It’s a catch all for those who resist MAGA.
Calling that corruption is no different than calling MAGA corruption.

Ukrainian troops withdraw from Velyka Novosilka to avoid encirclement – military

27.01.2025 16:30

To prevent the encirclement of the Ukrainian forces in the southern part of Velyka Novosilka, units of the Defense Forces have been withdrawn from the area.

This was stated by Viktor Trehubov, Spokesperson for the Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Group of Troops, during a televised address, Ukrinform reports.

“To avoid encirclement of the Ukrainian forces in the southern part of the settlement (Velyka Novosilka), they were withdrawn from there. The Ukrainian forces continue to hold some positions within the settlement, but closer to its outskirts. Any other actions could have led to encirclement and unnecessary losses among the Ukrainian defenders. By now, the Russian forces have entered a significant portion of the settlement, while Ukrainians are maintaining specific defensive lines to prevent them from advancing further,” Trehubov stated.

As reported by Ukrinform, intense fighting continues in the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia OSGT. The enemy unsuccessfully attempted to assault positions in Vovchansk and tried to break through the defenses in the Kramatorsk and Toretsk sectors.

Some people are using it as that. Like any political party/movement/whatever you want to call MAGA, there are latchers-on that seek to use it for their own benefit.

The concept of the deep state has been around a lot longer than MAGA though.

This.

It is the establishment machine/mechanism. The existing rotten, corrupt structure that enables it's existence and survival. Government career bureaucrats, career politicians, etc. that exist to ensure the survival/expansion of the system. A system that thrives and benefits those same people through its continuation/existence. It exists for personal gain opportunities and to create/push certain agendas/ideologies. Outside forces that help fund it's existence for their eventual personal gain (Lobbyists, MIC, foreign agents/players, foreign governments, NGO's) play a huge role.

IMO it is one of the most corrupt , evil entities/systems that exists in the world.

This is what Trump refers to as "the enemy within".
