He’s confusing the T-64 with the T-62

Then why do we see videos of T62s leaving Uralvagonzavod? All T-62's were made in Kharkiv, then called Kharkov
But they are being brought back into service at Uralvagonzavid factory.

The NATO Support and Procurement Agency has awarded Raytheon a $478 million contract for PAC-2 GEM-T missiles. This is to replace the Bundeswehr's stocks, which have been depleted due to donations to Ukraine.
Denmark, the Netherlands & Norway are participating in the financing.
It was previously reported that it would be ~100 missiles, but due to the value of the contract I suspect it is more than that. MSE is ~$4 million; GEM-T should be less less, though we don't know the exact unit cost

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to land on the Tendrov Spit, located south of Mykolaiv and across the Dnipro River, using 12 boats under the cover of a Bayraktar TB2 UAV. Russia claims that three of the boats carrying landing troops were destroyed, while the remaining boats fled. The Russian marine garrison on the spit reportedly sustained minor injuries.
Several of these amphibious assaults have been attempted on various Russian locations with low levels of success.

The Estonian Prosecutor General's Office has accused Svetlana Burtseva, a former propagandist of the "Russia Today" holding company, of state treason and sanctions violations.
According to the prosecutor, Burtseva wrote texts for media projects that work in the interests of Russian propaganda. She continued to engage in activities within the Sputnik Estonia and Baltnews publications.
According to the prosecution, among other things, Burtseva wrote the book "Hybrid War for Peace," which "describes a global hybrid war that Russia must win." The content of the book, according to the prosecutor, belittles Estonia and aims to discredit its institutions and divide Estonian society.
Burtseva is an Estonian citizen.

There is an intriguing information war unfolding alongside the newly opened “Kursk Front.” Earlier today, acting Kursk governor Alexei Smirnov released a video (with white text) urging residents to stay calm, avoid panic, and refrain from sharing information about the reported Ukrainian incursion into Kursk. Just a few hours later, a second video (with red text) featuring Smirnov in the same attire surfaced, in which he called for the formation of a militia to defend against the Ukrainian advance. He called on all Russian men age 18 and above to report to the local recruitment offices for the distribution of weapons and ammo.
This second video was soon exposed as a deepfake, manipulated from the original footage. Russian Telegram channels have been scrambling to suppress its distribution. The motive behind the fake video remains unclear.
Both videos are below with English subtitles added.

Kursk Region
Situation as of 1 am on August 7, 2024
The situation remains difficult in the Sudzha district of Kursk Region. According to our sources, Ukrainian formations have managed to entrench themselves in the border area, despite intense strikes and attacks by Russian forces.

Ukrainian-Russian war. Day 894:
During the last hours the Ukrainian military launched a border military operation across the Sumy oblast to the Russian territory of Kursk. After several hours of fighting the situation around the border localities is diffuse and dynamic, but several of these villages (Nikolaevo-Dar'ino, Dar'ino, Sverdlikovo, Oleshnya and Gogolevka) are at least out of Russian control or surrounded by Ukrainian troops that have not yet been expelled from Russian territory.
This operation has nothing to do with the previous operations that the Ukrainian command had previously carried out in which they supported Russian nationalist contingents in an attempt to penetrate Belgorod and Kursk. In this case a large number of Ukrainian soldiers participate in the attack, which has been well planned in the previous months and has caused important losses of the Russian soldiers around the locality of Sudzha.
The next few hours will determine whether the Ukrainian operation will continue to develop positively or whether the Russian reserves will be able to stop this attack and avoid a "inverse operation" to the one in Kharkov. Meanwhile, the war of attrition continues in the Donbas.

Niger Breaks Off Relations with Ukraine
The recent diplomatic tensions in West Africa have escalated as Niger announced on August 6, 2024, that it is severing diplomatic ties with Ukraine. The decision was made in response to accusations that Kyiv is supporting “terrorist groups,” a claim made by Niger’s government.
Niger’s government has stated its intention to bring Ukraine’s alleged “aggression” before the United Nations Security Council, highlighting the seriousness of the accusations. This diplomatic break follows a similar action by Mali, which also cut ties with Ukraine two days earlier. These developments are linked to statements made by Andriy Yusov, the spokesperson for Ukrainian intelligence, who mentioned the ongoing actions against the Russian PMC Wagner group following the defeat of the Tuaregs.

As expected Russia just taking bigger chunks of territory as expected:
quote:
Sergei Shoigu, the secretary of Russia’s Security Council, said Russia had captured 420sq km (162sq miles) of Ukrainian territory since June 14, as the Ministry of Defence said its forces had taken control of Tymofiivka, a village in eastern Donetsk region.
Seriously, step back and take a look at this. 3 years, 100s of billions of dollars......and they have succeeded in losing a big chunk of their country, and most of their fighting age men.
So with less men, and far less money, we somehow think it will change?
Its over fellas, its been over, just depends on how many more poor souls have to die before its announced.

Stated differently, they have taken .0006958% of Ukraine in the past month...pretty freaking impressive.
They went from controlling 20% to controlling 20.00069%; the Napoleon comparisons can't be far off.

Had no idea if his past life so I just googled him. Apparently the past six years have been good to him. In 2018 his net worth was 1.5 million. Just saying. Don't know anything about a property he just bought, but he is far from wealthy
So you've been talking shite for years about someone you know absolutely nothing about except for dumb shite shared on wing nut social media? Honestly, does that really seem like an intelligent life course?
One of his shows was a smash hit in Russia and his production company made a fortune... from things I've seen, he's been a multi-millionaire for quite a while based on TV shows and movies and his production company. He was kind of the Ukrainian Reagan, running for office after being a beloved actor (on a show where a school teacher becomes President of Ukraine).
Forbes: How much is Zelensky worth?
He’s currently worth roughly $20 million, based on reporting by Forbes Ukraine. Additional reporting by Forbes US puts that number at less than $30 million.
His main asset: an estimated 25% stake in Kvartal 95, a group of companies that produce humorous shows, which he transferred to his partners after being elected president, though he’ll likely regain his shares after leaving office. Kvartal 95 produced and owns the Servant of the People series, a popular political comedy starring Zelensky as a Ukrainian high school teacher who is elected president. Netflix, which previously streamed the show between 2017 and 2021, snapped up the rights again in March. With estimated revenues of $30 million annually, Forbes Ukraine values Zelensky’s stake at $11 million.

And again, since the Russian method is relentlessly shelling everything to piles of rubble and dust while sending meat wave attacks and suffering high casualties to be able to advance and occupy it, it is a pyrrhic victory... and can they occupy those areas if Ukraine can shut off water and supplies behind them?

While many military commentators have bemoaned the diversion of resources to an offensive in Russia's Kursk region at the same time Ukraine is losing lots of ground in the southern Donbas, the simple fact is that the operation has been extremely successful so far.

INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 07 August 2024
On 03 August 2024, a Ukrainian attack on Crimea highly likely resulted in the sinking of the Russian Black Sea Fleet KILO-Class submarine ROSTOV ON DON. Whilst the attack came in conjunction with a series of drone strikes, the attack in Sevastopol highly likely used the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS).
Contrary to some reporting, the submarine had highly likely not been fully repaired from a previous attack on Crimea in September 2023. This latest attack is almost certainly the final chapter for the submarine with it highly likely being more economically viable to build a replacement submarine than recover and repair it.
Although this is a significant morale boost to the Ukrainian forces, this is highly unlikely to have any major impact on Russian long range maritime strikes into Ukraine from the Black Sea Fleet. The strike does highlight the increasing risks to Russian forces in Crimea and will highly likely force Russia to reconsider any plans to relocate any significant maritime force back to the peninsula.
