I had a project at a chemical plant. 1st time in my 32 years of construction that a project was put on hold. The paid for the chiller/pumps/AHUs that were already delivered and then job went on hold. They made chemicals for oil industry. And we’re on a rolling furlough and producing a min rate just to keep process flowing and storing all they made in their warehouse and a make shift warehouse they erected. 16 months later the project was restarted.

In fairness, Poland was being uncooperative.

Definitely a trend here. Ukraine refused to give up its land and warm water ports. Refused to abdicate its government in favor of a hamd selected Russian puppet. Refused to disband its military. Refused to allow its children to be given away to Russian families. Refused to surrender when its neighbor massed on its border.

It's that level of non cooperation that will get you invaded by a militant dictator. It's kind of European History 101.

We know the idea of Russia in NATO is ridiculous.

But...if we are going to go down some bizarre alternative timeline scenario...had Russia joined NATO then Russia could have vetoed any more NATO countries on it's borders.

I only brought up the 2008 comment as a means of saying...if anyone says that the situation we find ourselves in today was not on the list of possibilities then they are not being honest with themselves.

Did you say a prayer for the 50 catholic and protestant and non Russian Orthodox priests that Russia has imprisoned?

Had Russia joined the EU and NATO, it would be a far more prosperous and peaceful place now.

There are currently air raid sirens sounding in Samara, Russia located over 900km from Ukraine ???? likely due to Ukrainian Kamikaze Drones attacking

Looks like another raid on the Samara region which is where the 2 refineries that were hit last night are located.

Personally I would not be wasting all these drones on oil refineries. I would save them and launch a massive attack during Putin's reelection rally. Cut the head off the snake and the body will die.

Very good point… BUT my question is why hasn’t Russia dominated this conflict and won by now???? Maybe they are not as strong as most thought.

No news that I have seen which either means it did not happen or the Kremlin is trying to cover it up. If the Kremlin is covering up the news then they likely are not doing anything to rescue anyone from the submarine. Like I said last night being trapped in a damaged submarine just waiting to suffocate has to be one of the worst ways to die IMO so I am hoping that it was fake news.

If UKR was going after gasoline, they would hit the naphtha reformers.

Not wrong that close to 100% of all journalists are clueless hacks. You just don't know anything about refining except gasoline makes your car go, which is normal for 99% of people including those who drill and produce oil.

What would Ukraine have to hit to take out gasoline, diesel and jet fuel?

You don't know what that means or you would realize it can't be applied to many in this thread.

Another note about NATO:

NATO is voluntary and has flourished, the Warsaw Pact was anything but voluntary and we see how that ended.

Since this is the OT after all.

quote:

Ukrainian porn actress Josephine Jackson takes part in a charity photo shoot with the military.
The photos will be included in a calendar, the proceeds from which will be used for rehabilitation and prosthetics for Ukrainian defenders.
