It was a new one to the Russians too until they plucked it out of our looney infosphere and started amplifying it back to the western Russophile audience.

In post-Soviet Russia something does not have to be real to be real.

Somebody with video editing and tech skills should make a "when keeping it real goes wrong" about Russia and their 3-day special military operation.

Maybe someone will do that to you one day.
And we’re not at war with Russia.

Su-34 is a piece of shite anyway so I doubt they even care about losing them.

It is an important part of Russia's air to ground attack ability. Also each Su34 is capable of carrying 2-4 air to surface missiles. Losing 7 Su34s in less than 2 weeks decreases the number of missiles that Russia can throw at Ukraine which makes it harder to overwhelm the Ukrainian air defense system.

Russians “testing” the captured Bradley. They took the BRAT armor off the sides and looked like they tried hammering at it with a BMP-1’s gun. Funny even without the armor paneling on the Bradley it looks like the armor still withstood most of the hits.

Also the first flight test of the new AMRAAM-ER took place so they are pretty close to going into production. These are exclusively for use on NASAMS but the AIM-260 JATM is also very close to production which will take over as the U.S. long range air-air missile.

If Truman had listened to him and nuked Russia like he wanted and warned what would happen if we didn't(he was right) history would have looked a lot different post WWII.

ISW Update

quote:

Key Takeaways:

Russian forces are attempting to exploit tactical opportunities offered by the Russian seizure of Avdiivka and appear to be maintaining a relatively high tempo of offensive operations aimed at pushing as far as possible in the Avdiivka area before Ukrainian forces establish more cohesive and harder-to-penetrate defensive lines in the area.

Russian forces are likely attempting to create an operational maneuver force for the exploitation of recent Russian advances in the Avdiivka direction.

The Russian command likely hopes that the reorganization of command structures will establish more cohesive Russian grouping of forces throughout the theater in Ukraine.

Recent developments in Transnistria, the pro-Russian breakaway region of Moldova, are unlikely to pose a military threat to Ukraine and will more likely impact Moldova’s European Union (EU) integration prospects. ISW is amending its warning forecast in light of continued Transnistrian officials’ statements that the upcoming Congress of Transnistrian Deputies will discuss Moldovan economic policies, likely related to changes to Moldova’s Customs Code that went into effect on January 1, 2024.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu continues to highlight recent Russian tactical successes in Ukraine as substantial battlefield victories for political purposes ahead of the upcoming Russian presidential election. Shoigu additionally highlighted Russia’s Central and Eastern Military Districts (CMD and EMD) to posture against supposed anti-Russian activity in Central Asia and the Indo-Pacific.

Ukrainian forces have reportedly shot down two Russian Su-34s on February 27, the tenth downed Russian military aircraft within roughly as many days.

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) reported on February 27 that the ongoing Russian information campaign to demoralize Ukrainian society will intensify between March and May 2024.

Russia likely tested an element of its Sovereign Internet on February 27, likely in an effort to strengthen control over individual aspects of the Russian information space.

Russian forces advanced west of Avdiivka amid continued positional engagements across the theater.

A Ukrainian official warned that Russia seeks to ramp up force generation efforts in occupied Ukraine following the formal integration of occupied and claimed Ukrainian territories into the Russian Southern Military District (SMD).

Russian authorities are reportedly systematizing the adoption of deported Ukrainian children in Russia.

To be fair to SirWinston, I don't think that he has simped for Assad and Hamas the way that Hinkle has.

Although that doesn't make any real sense, because Assad, Hamas, the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Iran are now all close Russian allies. Supporting Russia means supporting its allies, as Russia delivers advanced weaponry to them.

Assad was framed back in 2014 or whenever that was. I haven’t been paying attention since 2018 or so but I was cool with Assad and his smokin wife last I followed.

Hamas are terrorist scum and they can DIAF

British Defence Intelligence
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 28 February 2024

The war in Ukraine has contributed to a significant shift in Russia's relationship with the countries of the former Soviet Union. Russia almost certainly continues to see maintaining its influence in these countries as a foreign policy priority, crucial to domestic security and economic prosperity. Since February 2022, while there are variations between countries, Russia's overall influence in its near neighbours has declined.

The resources Russia has committed in Ukraine and its failure to achieve a military breakthrough have called into question Russia's traditional position as a regional security guarantor. Russia's violation of Ukrainian sovereignty has raised the prospect of a security threat from Russia itself. The decline in the Russian economy and the risk of secondary sanctions has intensified concerns around economic dependence on Russia.

In response to these trends, states across the former Soviet Union have intensified efforts to diversify their economic, political and security relationships to reduce their dependence on Russia. While Russia maintains a significant presence, both overt and covert, in the region, the Kremlin's ability to achieve its aims and objectives has almost certainly declined significantly over the past two years.

The de facto speaker of the house should allow Mike Johnson to put the national security supplemental to a vote.

Russian social media is really celebrating the destruction of the first Abrams MBT. You would think that they had taken Kyiv or something by the way they are crowing on about it.
