I don't know how Trump would treat Ukraine in 2025 if he were to win. Trump generally operates from instinct rather than a fixed set of principles, and support of Ukraine is extremely popular among the general public, and Trump often adopts popular views on critical issues.
If a miracle takes place and he actually wins, I’d bet a ceasefire would take place within his first year. Without getting too political I also believe that’s one of the reasons he’s not going to win. IMO a year ago public support was much more than it is today, I’m not saying the average American doesn’t want Ukraine to kick Russia completely out because they probably do. I also believe we have enough problems here at home and people are getting tired of sending money, military aid not so much. We can’t or want give Ukraine what they really need without running the risk of escalation and that’s the problem.

Key Takeaways:
Russian officials and state media largely refrained from publicly discussing the two-year anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, likely in an effort to avoid addressing Russia’s failure to achieve its stated war aims at significant human costs.
Russian officials and state-run and state-affiliated TV channels likely refrained from commenting on the two-year anniversary of the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion to avoid drawing attention to Russia’s failures to achieve its stated strategic goals in Ukraine and its more immediate goals of seizing all of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts, while also suffering high personnel losses.
Ukrainian officials discussed Ukraine’s goals and priorities for 2024 on February 25 and highlighted the need for continued Ukrainian innovation and Western aid to accomplish Ukraine’s objectives.
Drone footage posted on February 25 shows Russian forces committing apparent war crimes near Bakhmut.
The Russian information space continues to be highly sensitive to the recent losses of A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft, suggesting that the issue of deploying and defending these aircraft is of great concern.
Ukrainian Main Military Intelligence Directorate (GUR) Head Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov stated that Russia has not received any long-range missiles from Iran as of February 25.
Russian forces recently made confirmed advances near Bakhmut and Krynky amid continued positional engagements along the entire line of contact on February 25.
Russian authorities continue efforts to recruit Ukrainian citizens in occupied Ukraine into the Russian military.
Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Human Rights Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets stated on February 25 that Russia is holding over 28,000 Ukrainian citizens captive in Russian prisons.

We've seen time and again in history the choice is escalate now or be forced to escalate later.

Seeing videos of the Ukranian army essentially kidnapping men from their homes to die in this war disgusts me.
US taxpayer money is being used to extend a war that only had one possible outcome. The OT moderates are flicking their beans over how many Russians have died in this war. We weren't at war with Russia. We've never been at war with Russia.
The US government was against any sort of peace deals because peace eliminated any chance for the Fedgov to launder money.
90% of the posters in this thread should be fricking ashamed of themselves.

But seeing Russia invade its neighbor didn't disgust you?

Being against something and being in favor of bankrolling an entire foreign nations economy isn’t the same. If you have a son or grandson are you in favor of them fighting in war for Ukraine. If we keep fricking around that’s what it will come too.
I wish some of you would be as upset about our southern border being invaded.

They are legitimately crazy. If Russia successfully landed an ICBM in Cali it would do less damage to America than these extra 8-11 million illegals and their spawn will do and none of them even care.

The US staying out of this would have likely saved hundreds of thousands of lives.
Ukraine is essentially a dead nation. There are hardly any men of fighting age left in the country. What exactly do you think is the best case scenario for them right now?
Again, you're an OT moderate all in on this war that didn't need to happen. If the US had stayed out of this, the results would be similar, but nearly a million Russians/Ukranian men would still be alive.

You think the gov't needs Ukraine to launder money? Really?

I think that the Fedgov will use any and all opportunities to do so, yes.
Is your opinion that money is not being laundered in this war?

I get the point but I don’t know about that. What’s going on with the Southern Border is the at the top of the list for people with common sense, it’s also the reason people are getting fed up with sending money to Ukraine or any other country. Israel being at the top of the list as far as foreign aid goes.

On the agenda:
- Today, Hungary is supposed to ratify Sweden's NATO membership.
- Tomorrow, President Biden is scheduled to meet with Speaker Johnson to discuss Ukraine aid and the border crisis.

If a country, any country, I don't care if it's Ukraine, Syria, Australia, Nigeria or freaking Equatorial Guinea, if in any country a new spy chief comes in and makes his first calls to the USA and UK people in his field, I would think that is a very GOOD thing and not something to complain about.
