So what does this board think about the Russian Chief of the General Staff getting fired?
Definitely implies that the invasion didn’t go as planned, no?
Would agree. Seems to be the most telling piece of info from the Russian side on success/failure

Yes she did.
She was downvoting people on PT suggesting Tweets with no substance (video, images) isn’t proof of Ukraine holding off the Russians.

I don’t know what Putin is going to hit back with but it’s probably going to be the biggest card he has left to play.
Well, the biggest card he has left to play is launching a bunch of nukes.
I don't think he would do that, but that is definitely his ace in the hole.

Hopefully Putin goes out with a bullet from behind and doesn’t do something insane.
That’s my biggest worry right now.

Putin’s generals will end up whacking him.

We haven’t exactly been in a situation like this before.

EU imposes sanctions on Belarus, bans petroleum imports, sharing technologies. President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said that Belarus is actively taking part in the war against Ukraine.

I honestly have no idea what Vladimir Putin is doing. I am almost certain that Putin isn’t stupid nor insane, and all this is just coming off as completely irrational to me. I thought he’d invade Eastern Ukraine and stop there like he did with Crimea, but didn’t dream he would invade Kiev. It’s just insane to me.

Sob that’s a pretty smart idea.
Also, I know nothing about NFTs other than people are paying shitloads of money for digital “art”.

Could be the age old issue of communism. His people told him they'd be welcomed like heros when the opposite was true, and when that didn't happen, he responded with even more violence than originally planned.

NFTs are so niche, and people in that bubble (social not economic) just don't realize how much of the population thinks its Bernie Madoff level scamming.

He just miscalculated. Either bad intel or bad advice told him this would be easier than it is turning out to be. He accounted for the sanctions but not the resistance nor the Russian internal mood.
Funny that he tried to put the west at the crossroads of making a tough call (engage or not) and now he’s in a worse position (continue on or not)
