Russia was just sending a message to Biden because they knew there were not any American soldiers there. Trust me after the last few months Putin didn't want any of this smoke.

As of today, we have approximately 30 to 40, sometimes up to 50 percent of losses of equipment as a result of active combat. So, we have lost approximately 50 percent. … Approximately 1,300 infantry fighting vehicles have been lost, 400 tanks, 700 artillery systems.

He knows there’s no way he can spin the fact that the Russians can’t advance even with a 10-15:1 artillery advantage over the Ukrainians because the Russian military is made up of shitty o delete equipment and under trained conscript “soldiers” who are just there to be cannon fodder and fertilizer.

Russian losses will be much lower. They’re being very cautious.
They also have large stockpiles of heavy weapons. There’s no scenario where they run out of tanks or artillery, for example.
The Ukrainians however are very short on heavy weapons. And that is a problem for them.

The Ukrainians believed that telling the truth about their losses would endanger western aid.
If the west understood how bad it was, they would end their support of Kiev, and make a deal with Moscow.
It’s gotten to the point where the situation is so bad, that Kiev can’t pretend it away, and simultaneously, the West has cut back on aid (largely because they have nothing left to give.)
The Ukrainians have responded to this problem, by being more honest about their losses, in the hope that these numbers will persuade the west to give more aid. Ie If we tell them how desperate it is, they will offer more help.

Lol of course because I’m all the history of Russian military warfare they have cared about low casualties. They care less about their own soldiers than they do the people they fight. Ukraine has been outgunned this entire conflict and yet that map sure doesn’t move much in Russia’s favor for the discrepancy in hardware between the two. They might not run out of tanks but they damn sure are pulling shite out of the boneyard already. Pretty soon they will be shipping T-34’s to the front.

The Ukrainians outnumber the Russians.
And the Russians aren’t operating under any time pressure.

It’s very slow. That’s the trade off for the Russians.

So do you condone Putin’s threats to use nuclear weapons if their sovereignty is threatened? You know kinda like how he just did with invading a sovereign country in Ukraine…… I guess it’s a double standard right?
