They are just not very kind people. I’ve been to France a good many times in my life so I’m saying this from experience. Maybe it’s just people acting normally and I’m a southern guy who believes in hospitality but you can tell they hate Americans.

Sounds to me like they’re just good at sensing people who are idiotic assholes.

Having determined to take the city, RU inadvisedly committed to a costly urban fight. Choosing to make a defensive stand in highly favorable urban terrain, UKR appears now to have lured RU forces into a fruitless diversion of men and materiel.

It doesn’t look like the Ukrainians control all of Sievierdonetsk, but it looks like they are steadily pushing Russia out of the city. I would estimate that Ukraine has control of over 50%. Also all of Sievert is within range of the artillery and SAMs they have placed in the hills on the west side of the river.

INTELLIGENCE UPDATE

UPDATE ON UKRAINE

05 June 2022

Over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian forces have counterattacked in the contested city of

Sieverodonetsk in eastern Ukraine, likely blunting the operational momentum Russian

forces previously gained through concentrating combat units and firepower.

Russian forces committed in this area include personnel mobilised from the reserve of

Russian-led Separatist Forces of the self-declared Luhansk People's Republic. These

troops are poorly equipped and trained, and lack heavy equipment in comparison to

regular Russian units.

The use of proxy infantry forces for urban clearance operations is a Russian tactic

previously observed in Syria, where Russia employed V Corps of the Syrian Army to

assault urban areas. This approach likely indicates a desire to limit casualties suffered

by regular Russian forces.

I watched this very interesting interview yesterday with a Bulgarian military analyst who correctly predicted before the invasion the difficulties the Russian military would face performing their mission due to the rampant corruption prevalent in their force structure. Essentially why they weren’t as good as the Russians claimed and the West believed.

Why were we so wrong about Russia?

He had used a lot of local Russian information sources to cut through the propaganda to form his opinions.

I guess the red brigade will come here and redefine the Russian strategy again.

Seriously, Looks like good news to me, but it’s early. Let’s make sure this is real.

War is ebb and flow. The skill is knowing when to defend and when to attack.

Russia clearly doesn’t have the ability to conquer and hold Donbas, much less Ukraine at this time. This conflict is likely going to come down to who has the political and social will to slog on. Clearly Putin has the will. It’s possibly a personal, political necessity, but it appears increasingly clear from Russian media that the Russian population are aware the conflict is not going well for them. That seems to me that it could cut two ways, they could scream for peace, or that could push them towards total war and levee en masse. Some of the Russian state media are clearly pushing for an expansion of the conflict.

So basically the Russians are sending a bunch of untrained cannon fodder out there to get slaughtered so they can save what’s left of the more trained and equipped units. Yep sounds like Russian tactics right to the bone. They have no value for their own troop’s lives whatsoever.

They need to use those rocket launchers and long range artillery to attack their supply lines relentlessly. They already are complaining they have no food, guns or medicine. One commander said a Russian supply truck came and all it had on it was soaking wet rolls of toilet paper and shoe polish.Their Wagner Group even refuses to cross the river because everyone else who has tried has been destroyed by Ukrainians with M777 howitzers trained on that position. The Russians have no leadership whatsoever and just like the Germans and Hitler the Russian generals are afraid to go against Putin.

When mercenaries travel. Do they check their hardware? Do they have a fixer where they go? Or do they just go knowing the Ukranians will arm them.

Report out of Severodonetsk from the russian side
https://twitter.com/GirkinGirkin/status/1533503951370428416

Translated
quote:

· There are many mobile Ukrainian groups in the city
· Diversion/recon groups operate at night, there were cases of Russian soldiers being abducted from positions
· Sniper-machinegunner pairings are common & cause trouble
· Some joke that city won't be taken until there's nothing left to drink

Sounds like Ghosts are stealing Russians at night. Bet that makes those Russian troops sleep better
