mean, kicking off all riders on both sides of the float seems extreme, but maybe there is a logical explanation somewhere out there. Probably a combo of a few retard/drunk riders and maybe a few overreacting police. Never heard of all riders on a float being locked off the float in the middle of a parade in all of my life.

For scope I think I saw 2 different people post they were at the hospital with kids that got wrecked and probably 4-5 others that posted about the float

So I think it may have been multiple events spanning the route and more than just 1-2 riders

They decide to huck things at people, and there's almost nothing that can be done about it.

I mean this is the basic premise of a Mardi Gras parade.

Wrong. There's a big difference between tossing out throws and trying to hit people with items never intended to be thrown. Water bottles, grosses, etc. Everyone knows the difference

I was riding Carrollton 2 years ago with my dad and my three 16yr old or over sons and some drunk threw a handful of throws back at us almost wrecking my dad. Two NOPD cop bolted at the drunk and were on him in a flash.
I rip on everything NO like the rest but it was impressive how fast these two cops were over the barricade and on top of this dude

I went to Bacchus with my GF, and had a water bottle smack me in the head. A friend saw it thrown, and we were not near the front. I took my son to see a friend ride recently and got smacked in the head with a gross.

When I was about 13-14, some drunk jack arse threw a doubloon sideways like he was skipping it
Same thing happened to me during Bacchus in the eighties. I was standing in front of the Flamingo on St. Charles Ave. If I’d been a bit more savvy at the time, I would have gotten Morris Bart to sue that krewe.

ETA: If I hadn’t been wearing contacts, that eye would have been seriously damaged, possibly permanently. The contact lens deflected the doubloon. Wore an eyepatch on MG as part of my costume that year.

And you are a clueless bitch. Have you ever been to a parade? You DO realize that there is a lot going on at one, don’t you? Not everyone is looking directly at the riders. Sheesh!

If this is true:
“We seen the riders walking behind us so we asked what happened and. They said one rider threw a yoyo and it cracked a NOPD cruisers windshield and so they all got ejected! And they all were walking ! It was so funny to see the empty float fly by then all the riders walking!”

Wait. Are we now taking every egregious action by a human being and simply labeling it as “stuff happens?”

Girl gets gang raped. “Stuff happens”
Mother beats child to a pulp. “Stuff happens”
Thug murders old lady getting into her car. “Stuff happens”

What an absolutely ridiculous take.

If you're on a float and one of the riders is acting a fool, everyone on that float needs to be a Karen and tell him to knock it tf off.

Policing your own people is now considered being a Karen?

Yes. Being a Karen isn't always a bad thing.
