if he has even a shred of humanity under that badge he would
If he had even a shred of integrity he’d find a new job and hang up the title of law enforcement officer.

Given the facts presented, IMHO it's pretty unlikely a jury would find the cop guilty "beyond reasonable doubt".
Tyler Barriss, OTOH, is going to spend a good long time behind bars and rightly so.

You're right, if only we had multiple angles of body cam footage showing the victim doing nothing wrong.
Body cams were supposed to cut down on these types of things from happening. Instead, now all that happens is there is video of cops murdering people and getting away with it. Which further increases the divide between the 2 sides on the police issue.
How long before studies start being done on how much taxpayer money was wasted on outfitting cops with these things given their ineffectiveness in curtailing inappropriate police behavior?

How much more evidence is needed to realize he doesn't?

Wait, did you zing me? Because I am not following whatever flawed logic you’re using.

I've never heard this term, swatting, before.
I just youtubed the camera get swatted.
Holy hell. What a bunch of nerds.

I find it interesting how some will dig their heels in on subjects like this despite clearly being in the wrong. I mean has he even conceded that the body cam footage exists?

bullshite. If the Cop who actually murdered the guy isn't charged then how the hell can the guy who did the prank be charged with anything other than falsely reporting a crime

Unfortunately you don't get thrown to the wolves in other professions like cops and troops in combat do where you have to make choices that could end yours or someone else's life.
Imagine if firefighters had the same risk adverse attitude about their jobs as cops. "Yes, there could have been children in the burning building, but I feared for my life, and I deserve to go home to my family at night!"

I generally support the cops but this one deserves some punishment unless there is more to the story than what’s in the article.

sounds like the guy who set it all in motion will be punished...i don't see the problem
Until you walk outside of your house trying to understand why police are surrounding it, and are shot dead of course.
Look at that exact statement and put yourself into the shoes of the guy that was killed without reason. If you don't see the problem you need to put a gun to your head and pull the trigger, because you're doing none of us any favors by being here.

Or similar and not a joke, but there have been Amber Alerts in Texas for dads completely unknowing of any wrongdoing. Vindictive moms reporting missing children when in reality it was nothing but normal visitation. If you're the dad's mindset, you likely respond to guns drawn with a WTF!. I would.

People that side with LEO in cases like these shouldn't be allowed to vote

Go watch the body camera from the cop. The cop was 99% in the wrong here
It wasn't directly linked but I found footage here
At the critical moment when he suddenly raised his hands around 0:06 - 0:07 my first reaction was that he had a gun and was pointing it at me.

He should have complied.
This often baffles me because I hear a lot of right wingers say this but it's also right wingers using to 2A to combat any type of gun control.
How can you use your 2A rights to defend against a militant government doing wrong by you and your family, if said militant government does show up to your house when you have done nothing wrong you just comply and go with them?
Is this not Cognitive Dissonance?
