It's amazing how Alton Sterling is a big deal and all over national news, but no one really cares about this... an actual terrible police killing.

There are people in this country who would support a cop not being charged if he or she killed a child and used the "in fear for my life" defense. That's just how deep our hero worship goes.

I imagine it must be a powerful feeling to be able to kill anyone you want and know you wont be prosecuted.

the crazy part is alot of cops likely take this mentality into their line of work every day 'against' perps and innocents alike.
To paraphrase Bunny Colvin, when you're at war with crime, you need an enemy. Pretty soon, everybody on every corner is your enemy. And the streets you're supposed to be policing, that's just occupied territory.
The militarization of American police is the single greatest threat to individual liberty today in this country.

Jeremy Mardis (6 years old) says hello. Even before the officers were charged there were people on here saying it wasnt the officers fault.

The DA shouldn't make the decision in who gets charged?
This would be the first DA to ever make an incorrect decision?

quote:the problem is some of these cops are way too careless with this responsibility. their main objective on a daily basis shouldn't be 'me vs you,' bc the you in this equation has already lost.
Unfortunately you don't get thrown to the wolves in other professions like cops and troops in combat do where you have to make choices that could end yours or someone else's life.

I wonder where Andrew Finch wanted to go. You know, since he was already home and all.

Have no problems with their decision.
Oh so if a person you've never met called the cops and said you were threatening to kill people, the cops roll up to your house, you walk outside to see what is going on and they shoot you... you'd think it was all a-ok and the cops did nothing wrong?

Seeek is a fricking bumbling idiot and shows it with every post on this fine website.

There's a certain contingency of the police that are former high school jocks that weren't big enough to play college football and couldn't get an academic scholarship with their 2.0 GPA. Those are the type of police that chase that control and power they had in their glory years. And nothing says control and power like a badge and a gun.

Our cops have less strict rules of engagement than our military.

a person was killed that didn't have to be, if LEO acted rationally
Were you there? Did you witness what LEO witnessed? You're at a keyboard nowhere near the incident and you feel confident to make your comments? The article makes a huge leap over events and says 10 seconds later the dude was shot. What happened in those 10 seconds. You were obviously there, so tell us.

There are people that suck at their jobs in all walks of life and some of them are cops.
So why is it so difficult in this country to punish cops who make mistakes?
We're all about personal responsibility unless it's a cop fricking up, aren't we folks
