You can absolutely bet that if the cops busted in there and he shot them he would have been charged with murder

It's okay, the victim wasn't black.

If the Cop did nothing wrong then all he should be charged with is falsely reporting an incident nothing more

Officers screamed at Finch to put his hands in the air, but Livingston said the 28-year-old father of two young boys moved a hand toward his waistband. An officer, fearing Finch was reaching for a gun, fired a single shot.

You have no problems with cops showing up at the home of someone who did absolutely NOTHING wrong and killing him?

Due process is dead in this country thanks to sheep like you who let cops murder people with no accountabliltiy.

I hate when they say a cop "killed" someone. That word has really negative connotations

Are you serious?

How else would you describe what the cops did. Liberated his soul from his earthly body?

obviously they should have complied or else they pay for it with their lives

Comply with what? This guy literally just walked out of his house and got executed

There are other political considerations here. If the officer is arrested or disciplined it can call into question all of the convictions that this officer participated in, which makes the DA look bad. He doesnt have a lot of reason to prosecute any LEO unless it endangers his election

If the execution of an unarmed and completely innocent man is not enough of a reason, we are dead as a free society. No need to even continue the charade.

Imagine the executed person was your family member. Would still be so forgiving of the cop

Were you there? Did you witness what LEO witnessed? You're at a keyboard nowhere near the incident and you feel confident to make your comments? The article makes a huge leap over events and says 10 seconds later the dude was shot. What happened in those 10 seconds. You were obviously there, so tell us.

HOLY shite!!!

The dude was not a criminal. He was completely innocent of any crime. He was at his own home and simply walked out the door. And was executed. For walking out of his own house. After doing nothing wrong.

He had absolutely no idea why cops were out there. And you don’t think that’s a bad kill by the cops.

What the frick is wrong with some of you people.

Probably not. He and his cop buddies probably went out for beers and made jokes about the guy killed immediately upon hearing that charges weren’t being filed.

This often baffles me because I hear a lot of right wingers say this but it's also right wingers using to 2A to combat any type of gun control.

How can you use your 2A rights to defend against a militant government doing wrong by you and your family, if said militant government does show up to your house when you have done nothing wrong you just comply and go with them?

Is this not Cognitive Dissonance?

This isn't a left or right issue and most of the time these things aren't hard to figure out. This cop shouldn't have shot that guy. The cop that shot Alton Sterling did nothing wrong. The fact that we feel the need to politicize everything and you must take a side is what's wrong with the country. If people would just do what's right and act with common sense we'd be fine. Theres politicians in Washington that agree with things they vote against hecsuse the different party brings it up, and there's people that agree with slaying innocent people because "their side" is the one that did the killing.

Of course he’s gonna day that. It’s what they are trained to say. That idiot should be charged with manslaughter. Since he’s not being charged with a crime then he should be banned from working in law enforcement.

This shite right here is why cops are getting killed. Society won’t make them pay? The family should.

I don’t remember all the details, but the situation was extremely escalated to the police and the guy was completely oblivious as to what was even happening. I’m not sure he was simply not complying.. he did at many points did comply and have his hands up..

He probably went to pull his pants up and didn’t realize just how serious the situation was. The gamer who called a fake swat on him gave really chilling statements as if he were him I believe.. it’s such an unfortunate event.

Again I don’t remember enough about it, but maybe they should have just ordered him to get on the ground instead of standing. Idk but it just sucks.

What always strikes me is when I was deployed our ROE was significantly tighter (in a hostile country) than many of these shooting cops practice with US citizens.

First off, whomever called the police and faked that incident should get jail time. Your stupid prank call ended with someones life being taken. Anyone who has ever swatted or whatever is a tpos as far as im concerned.

Im all for practical jokes. When I was a teen me and my friends would prank call all the time. We would do stupid stuff like call dominos and have it delivered to random houses. Or call and try to order Nachos and pizza from the local asian restaraunt where the lady barely spoke English. We would have never done anything like this, though. There should be a line, and the guys who take part in swatting cross that line big time.

In other news. This looks like a clear case of police injustice. Is BLM anywhere to be found on this case. I doubt it, which is confusing because they stay away from the cases that could actually further their cause. And all jump on the wrong ones that do nothing to help the cause.
