I didn't really do the whole club type scene in Denver, but I can tell you there are a shite ton of socially idiotic IT type dudes out here. If you're reasonably attractive and not a social retard, you can do pretty well.

Go. Don’t think twice. Gtfo as fast as you can.

Absolutely take the job. Take from someone who was sort of in in your shoes and stayed close to home. I would be far better off if I had decided to take the offer and go. You have to live your life. Hell talk your parents into selling everything and moving up there close to you. Far better quality of life in Colorado than in that hell hole New Orleans.

Congratulations! Take the job, go enjoy the scene in beautiful Colorado and enjoy life. You've earned it and you're on your way. I know your family will be happy for you and proud of you!!

Get as far away as Louisiana as possible.

Live as far south of Denver as possible unless you like lefty types. If you are a lefty, frick off and live far NW as possible : )

Yes. And absolutely there are girls there but at least 5+ years ago when I lived there definitely more men than women. The friends I stayed with when I was looking for a place told me that was a nickname for the town. Obviously a
lot could have changed since then though.

it will cost you 37% more to live
My SIL in Denver just closed on a smallish 1980's split-level in an decent (not spectacular) school district for $650k.
There's a similar sized and 33 years newer house in Prairieville listed for $299k, for reference.
Denver is fantastic, but it's an expensive place to live.

I’m moving to Douglas County, close on a house this week
Real estate market is nuts and seems to get exponentially crazier every month. Right now, 50k over asking feels like a given. Granted, we missed out on 2 houses and got one on our third try so not that drawn out, but you’ve gotta be ready to offer way over asking, no financing contingency, no repairs, free post occupancy, and appraisal gap coverage. List prices are intentionally low balled. We are paying 50k+ over asking and the appraisal came in basically right on (with the comps to support it). Bottom line is there is no supply and tons of demand.
