They'd get him for tampering with evidence. I don't see how saying "your honor, I can't remember what the code was" could lead to contempt.

As others have said, he can just claim to not remember the passcode. Many Americans will feel empathy with that, as I have issues with passwords and PINs all the time.

But that would totally be self incrimination, right?


no one has yet pushed it that far but it should fail in SCOTUS as a clear 5th amendment protection against self incrimination
