A lot to digest here:

Either this chick cop should not be a street cop or it sounds like Steven Seagal needs to do some more training for the JPs.

That dude coulda/shoulda been shot. Fighting on the ground with any cop and that is a potential result. Not too long ago, before body cams, he would be dead and no one would care.

Sounds like this old man has an addiction problem. Get help, or trouble is gonna find him in one way or another.

Dudes has a female officer- even if it was a male- in a head lock trying to choke out and gouge her eyes out... what da hell do want the officer to do to get him to release?

Say please sir, be a nice guy, have a heart and turn her loose?

Male cop should have stuck his pistol in his ear and ended him. If I am on the cops jury, Im giving him a key to the city and will buy him beer whenever I see him out.

Dont attack a cop if you dont want to die.

Reminds me of the guy in Florida who killed a K9, the K9 handler, wounded another cop and then ran into the woods. When SWAT found him, the dumbass raised the deputies stolen pistol and fired at them. They shot him 68 times.

Dude got what he deserved.

Stomping the guy's head is a bit excessive.

The guy is a habitual line stepper. His line stepping is excessive. Excessive line stepping requires excessive corrective action

Sounds like the female officer is a liability to the department.

As are most cops when it comes to physical altercations.

It’s the one most likely to occur but the one trained for minimally bc liability and injuries.

Depts. rather deal with the occasional incident like this rather than all the workers comp claims from bogus injuries.

Women can’t handle themselves in situations like this. They should not be police officers. It’s a man’s job.

Yep, I agree for the most part. They can have some administrative roles and work with women in rape cases, etc. I couldn’t stand and watch a woman get her arse beat by a criminal. It’s a gut level reaction to me.

Nothing wrong with the cop making sure he wouldn’t be going anywhere.

Sometimes you have to give them something to remember. So when he decides to act a fool again, he’ll think …. I got my head bashed in last time, I’ll just go hit the wall in my house.

There is no book that outlines response for every situation. There are rules of engagement that give latitude to what force can be used in certain situations. This snippet of bystander video will not determine the outcome. Burning do appreciate your support for law enforcement. They are human and certainly not above criticism when necessary.

JPSO Deputy: Do you ever do anything that doesn't end in a stand-off, Chau?
Mr. Chau: I a international criminal. It always ends like this. I met my wife at one of these things.

Makes me think of when that bystander blew that guy away who was attacking the cop on Greenwell Springs Rd about 20 years ago. Should have blown this guy who's been arrested 20 times in 10 years away too and saved us some money.

Law enforcement should be held to a high standard and that behavior is unacceptable.

One day suspension without pay.
