The Porsche Cayman S shits on the corvette. Both are around the same price also.
Uh, it didn't when Top Gear compared the two. And a Cayman S starts $10k over the Vette.

The sound is awesome, that's one of the main reasons I bought it.
Jaguar service has been excellent as well.

Eh, I believe they're making a comeback on the GT racing circuits but not sure if it's a game-changer for Joe sixpack .

friend of mine has a G8 GT, that is a fun car to drive. I didn't even really know anything about them. It's really fast and handles great.

Why? It's a $118,000 car that can hang with and possibly beat cars that cost 3 to 5 x's as much. It also won't go into limp mode after being hot lapped. In terms of performance, it'll be hard to beat. The old ACR still holds the #2 time for production cars around the Nurburgring...this one has more power, better suspension, and almost double the down force.

You bought one? V6 or 8? Coupe?
I heard it's a little rough........until you go fast
Can I fit a set of golf clubs in the trunk?
Hows your MPG? They claim 27?
Although I'm sure the lead foot kills that
ETA: how many times have you just sat there in the driveway starting it up..shutting it down...starting it up..rinse repeat

Joe Sixpack can buy that car if he wants to. That's a road legal production car.

Look at the resale of any 5 year-old BMW, M-B, and most Porsche models. The Corvette, on a % basis, does far better than than those money pits.
The Corvette has had some issues, but they lead the league in sports car reliability and resale value. The C7 addressed the car's last weak point (interior fit and materials) and is selling very well.

Americans make shitty cars, who knew? If we could get the old skunk works crew back together, or hell let Boeing and Lockmart fight over the right to design a car...that would work. It may be machined out of some priceless alloy, and they may need IBM to put some brains in it, but guarantee it would shut up those Germans. GMAC on the other hand makes nothing to make them sweat.

F-Type R Coupe with the ceramic brake package.
Not rough, unless you put it in track mode.
Yes, on the clubs.
I guess you can get 27, but I wouldn't know.
Everybody that comes over wants to hear it, so a bunch.
It leaves wet spots (from the exhaust soot) in the garage.
It sounds like an old-school LeMans race car.

This is expected from Clarkson. Hammond, on the other hand, loves American cars. They play off each other well in this regard.
I love the recent Top Gear episode where Hammond is driving the Stingray convertible in Italy against Clarkson's Alfa 4C. Hammond's comparison between the Stingray and the Porsche Cayman is very complimentary as well.
Clarkson has been complimentary of Corvette's in the past (see the Reno episode), but he's not wrong with what he said.

the C7 Stingray is now blowing engines left and right
Source? How many constitutes "blowing engines left and right"? You referenced one article - which even admits that the car was likely abused. One car nlows an engine after the proper break-in is not followed, and suddenly the rumor mill starts. I participate on several ette forums, and "blown engines" is a non-issue. Any car has flaws in the first year of a major model change. A few '15 C7s have lost the roof as well - when the idiots forgot to flip the levers to fasten it down after putting it back on. The C7 is legit, and is easily the best sports car on the market in its price range.

Dollar for dollar the Corvette is the best spots car you can buy. There's a reason they get compared to all the Euro cars.

They don't but then stupid people commonly make that assertion; intellectual bankruptcy is a common theme when it gets down to the numbers.

True, but he did admit to the Ford GT being one of his favorites even though it was broken all the time.
He and May also spoke well of the new Dodge Viper.
