The ACR rides like a empty dump truck compared to the Lambo, the difference is night and day. I can drive this car every day, couldn't do that with the Viper.

And the Viper will run circle around that Lambo. Comfort isn't a priority to legit fast cars, and a Gallardo isn't built to be that.

Sometimes the really nice lines of a car get lost in the black paint.

Not to mention the maintenance nightmare that black paint can be.

The corvette hasn't been beautiful in years. Its performance in the curvy bits has always been lacking. The sooner they completely revaluate the suspension and gratuitous use of plastic the better the world will be.

You're really out of touch with this. People are going apeshit over the C7. I had my 911 for a year and a half and got a few compliments here and there - and it was Aqua Blue Metallic, which is pretty uncommon and a great looking color. I got more compliments on the Vette in the first week than I did the entire time I owned the Porsche. Even on the drive home with it from Georgia, I had several people give me a thumbs up as I drove by. It's pretty much a daily occurrence. And I've had so many people approach me at the gas station or at the store just to come check it out or take pictures. You may not like the Vette's appearance, but they hit it out of the park with the general public. People just LOVE it.
As far as performance, the Performance Traction Management and Magnetic Selective Ride Control have taken it to a whole new level unmatched by previous Vettes. The thing is splendid to drive on the track. In the 911, I had to brace myself against the gear shifter to keep myself in the seat around the turns. The Vette has so much less "lean" and is so much smoother around the track. And just plain faster and easier to drive. That may not necessarily be the case with a professional driver in the seat, but that's not the target group for any of these cars. For the above average driver who has fun on the street and puts it on the track every now and then, it's performance is just superb.

Nope, I can give 2 shits about ring times, this car was not built for that purpose.

That you're an idiot, that was proven way earlier in the thread.

Don't get all pissy because you brought up comfort when talking about racing times.

Hey, those were your words...not mine.

Have you ridden in the new Vipers? Interior is supposed to be light years better.

No one is getting pissy, one is a street legal race car, the other is an exotic. Exotics of today are much more refined than they ate just 20yrs ago. You can have your cake and eat it too. The Viper has LOTS of compromises, some are willing to put up with it many are not. Those that do mostly have one for track days and have a Z06 or non-ACR to drive on the street.

The bottom line is that none of the exotics, minus Bentleys and the like, are particularly comfortable. You criticizing the ACR's comfort over it's performance was silly. Surely you see that, right? Cars that can run laps like the ACR are not going to be "comfortable." Congrats on your buddy's turbo Gallardo. That extra power isn't goingto make it turn and brake any better though.

intellectual bankruptcy is a common theme when it gets down to the numbers

And numbers can't describe everything. Is an H&K just an expensive Glock, is a 5 series just a different badge than an Hyundai? Things cant always, and I would argue they never should be, solved with stats. The interaction with a machine like a vehicle is way more than numbers, over engineering is rarely a waste of money...and stats would argue otherwise.

You must've missed my initial point then. I said the new ACR would be a game changer bc it's an American car that excels at other things besides going fast in a straight line. The Z06 can turn, but not like the ACR and it also heat soaks and chokes power bc it's supercharged. You said the Viper would not be important bc the old ACR was tuned by some Dodge engineers and bc it's doesn't ride smooth and then talked about a twin turbo Gallardo that is only good at going fast in a straight line.

So basically, I provided an example of an American car that can shake the American stereotypes and you provided an example of a European car trying to be an American car.

I've read that Bondurant has had several and seen several more on various forums. I'm not sure which forum you're on, but it obviously isn't a good one. Looks like Vette owners are just really good at making excuses to justify owning them.

$420,000

$200,000

$225,000

$75,000

At 2.5 - 5 times the cost, it's easier to build a world class automobile
