New Orleans won’t exist this this time next year. The tourism industry was on life support as is. This will kill it. Look for some New Orleans staples to start folding now.
Hope you’re happy folks.

I honestly don’t see how restaurants and bars make it now. This was their last holdout. Without Mardi Gras, their budget is completely blown

"Question: Will there be parades in the City of New Orleans this year?
"Answer: Parades of any kind will not be permitted this year because large gatherings have proven to be super spreader events of the COVID-19 virus."
I hate this shite as much as the next person, but be honest: is this factually wrong?

Okay, who cut the hole in the bag!?

It's a joke at this point. How this has gone on for close to a year is insane. Time to move the frick on.

I don’t understand making this decision today. Fingers crossed she doesn’t cancel the 2025 Super Bowl.

Dear Mayor Latoya:
We are planning a large scale protest on February 14, 2020. We will have floats adorned with political messages supporting BLM and Antifa. We anticipate this will be widely supported throughout the city and we look forward to it.

However large protests or celebrations for a new President are super safe and highly encouraged

I don't know how Nola doesn't go bankrupt from Covid. They'll be plenty of other places with their hands out for Federal bailout money.

Latoya putting the final nail in NOLA's coffin.

As long as hospitals are not overrun, it does not matter how much this thing spreads. Period.
Outside of some places in New York City/New Jersey, show me where hospitals were overrun. The temporary facility at the convention center in New Orleans was never used. Same goes for Century Link Field in Seattle, and others that were set up all over the country.
Almost all of the news stories about hospitals having their ICU beds "at capacity" are simple fear mongering stories. We have excess amounts of vents and supplies at the federal level that we can send anywhere at the snap of a finger.
As soon as liberals figured out that hospitals were not overrun and would NEVER be overrun, that is when the goalposts started moving. And they've been moving ever since.

She’s banking on huge federal relief which will not be distributed to anyone actually impacted by this.

It may not be factually wrong (super-spreader event is just a made up term to drum up fear but that's a different story). But, all of these mayor's across the country were completely fine with and even participated in some large groups of people marching through their streets, you know, like a parade, as long as they were protesting racism and inequity in America. So, obviously, the people holding governments hostage with the protests are getting special treatment while the law abiding citizens of cities are punished.
