Its just a License Plate Reader

Used to track and intimidate you if you dare disagree with your lords and saviors the governement.
These cameras need laws to reign in their use. Police should not be able to use them at a whim.

Local politician can’t get upset about something I did and have the cops track me with my cell phone to harrass me.

Think twice before voting for tax increases. Bet they are outrageously priced for the unit, operating costs and labor to install and maintain.

To be fair, you don’t own the license plate. The state does.
Not sure how the 4th rectifies that. Plus no expectation of privacy in public.
Arresting people or harassment, presumably without cause, seems like a separate issue.
And as far as tracking, red light cameras have been used for this purpose, and I’m not aware of any legal action in regards to this specific use.

Somebody help me understand a good reason why Flock cameras became a tipping point for public outrage.
We’ve had traffic cams to monitor public roads for decades. We’ve also had license plate readers. Officers park their vehicles and read license plates at locations that warrant their focus.
Flock combined the 2 to become more of a passive system to do the same thing.
Is the combining of technology used the tipping point, or is it the proliferation that is the tipping point?
